A jewel in the Danish camping crown!
I was so lucky to have booked a small, basic camping hut to chill out after a few busy days exploring Copenhagen. Niva is a comfortable 30 minute train ride (the train service is so regular and reliable) and an easy 1,3 km walk from the station. The campsite is so beautiful and surrounded by forests for walking and cycling and very near a picturesque harbour and lovely flat coast road with designated cycle lanes for taking in the sea air. Eva and Bent were SO kind and accommodating we were very sad to have to leave. Our hut was so quaint and well equipped (water available from the spotless ablution block nearby) bed packs, bikes, wifi and hot shower water were all very reasonably priced as was the accommodation, even for us struggling to travel with the beleaguered SA Rand. We were able to explore Hilsingor and also relax in the peaceful surrounds. Thank you so much Eva and Bent.

Careful, risk of loud music nearby!
Nice campground and location and in principle nice new management. But it’s adjacent to inhabited neighbourhoods. So we went up there for a bike+tent adventure. First night was beautiful, but the second night we had to endure disco-like loud music invading the camping from a drunkards party nearby from 20:00 PM until 1:00 AM. Notwithstanding several requests, management decided to go easy on the rule-breaking neighbours, so it was living hell for the campers. It ruined an experience. Ultimately management did not want to take responsibility, refused to make it up for what we lost (indeed we paid good money for a service we did not receive, i.e. a nice quite camping experience) and simply offered pointless apologies. Moreover, they were even upset about our honest feedback. In summary, a sour aftertaste at the end of a long-awaited vacation. It was quite unfortunate. So watch out, as you cannot tell whether you will get a getaway night with frogs and mallards serenading or a living hell with a bunch of drunk teenagers screaming like crazy with music at full blast until early hours.

With family in tent without electricity
Nice little camping. There is a playground for the children with a bouncy. We walked to a very nice beach about 800 meters away. The beach was next too a port and there were several restaurants. The camping has a smal shop where you can buy candy and a small range of food. Toilets and showers are clean. There are tabels under a roof where you can sit and eat.

Perfect getaway from busy Copenhagen
I stayed at the Niva Camping site with my mother for a week and we could not have had a better experience! The place is absolutely spotless and maintained better than most hotels we have stayed at. The staff were very attentive and always available to answer questions and give travel advice. The cabins themselves come in various levels of luxury; we stayed in a small hut with shared bathroom. The hut was lovely and had a fridge and stove and more than enough room for two people. The shared bathrooms were a close walk and were always clean - bonus is the amazing showers with proper water pressure! The campsite is beautiful and right in the middle of nature which makes it the perfect getaway from busy Copenhagen!

Nice campsite in north of Copenhagen
Just check in at Niva campsite. A fairly small but very nice and well organized campsite. Owners very friendly and helpful - almost family like, that's the way to do it.
Good facilities in one central location, very nice location with a lake right in the middle of the site - nice and easy living.
