good place

good place. clean rooms, good prices + service. nice people at the desk. close to the beach + lots of places to eat. it does get a bit noisy on the weekends because of the bar - disco next door. no problems in the area.

Pool and descent rooms

Located a block or so from the malecon. It is a easy walk to all beaches and restaurants. Also near the street with vendors if looking for tourist nic nacs. You can make the walk to the end la choclateria its a ways but not bad. Also a good and cheap restaurant to stop by on your way. See my future post

$60 TOWN

Why would you choose to stay in a $190 hotel in a $60 town? There are people that love Salinas. There are people that own vacation condos in Salinas. Salinas is perfectly enjoyable. It is not Cancún. It is not Santa Barbara. It is Salinas.
My wife and I enjoy luxury hotels as much, probably more, than the next person, but if you’re looking for luxury, Salinas is probably not the place to go…
Marvento has cracked the code in Salinas. Marvento’s Salinas empire of hotels gets it right. Simple, clean rooms with air conditioning, cable TV and free wifi are the coin of the Marvento realm. They’re sort of the Motel 6 of Salinas (if that means anything to you). Again, not luxurious, but we typically don’t spend that much time in the room anyhow.

Clean & Basic

Recently stayed 4 nights at Marvento Suites in Salinas. The name of the property is a bit of a misnomer, as none of the rooms are suites. The rooms are adequately furnished. Only minimal towels, pillows and basic sheets are provided in the room. If you wanted extra, you had to ask for them. The hotel was okay with our dogs, provided we had a kennel for them. It seems that staff morale is fairly low and this is reflected in the limited customer service you receive and lack of positive demeanour from the staff. This was especially true with regard to the restaurant staff. The breakfast at the restaurant was very minimal – scrambled eggs with ham bits, a bun with jam, instant coffee and juice. After our first morning breakfast, we decided to eat elsewhere for the remainder of our stay. Would not recommend staying in room #7. This room has only two small windows one in the bathroom and one interior window looking into a storage room. Parking is available about ½ block away. The couple we were travelling with stayed on the 4th floor. They did not have hot water for the entire 4 nights. This is despite advising the hotel staff about this several times. However, our room was on the 2nd floor and we had no issues with hot water.

Marvento Suites

Nice hotel for the money. The rooms are a good size with large bathrooms. The bed mattress seems newer and sleeps well. We got the room towards the back because of possible street noise. The breakfast was good and cheap.location is 1 block the beach. Staff very friendly and helpful.
