Addis Amba Hotel in Bahir Dar

We stayed two nights at this hotel. We had a great time. The bed was very comfortable. The room was clean and well maintained. The staff was very helpful. We enjoyed walking around the hotel at night and ate a local restaurant.

Experiences in Addis Amba Hotel during my 10 months stay because of appointment as Professor in Bahir Dar University

Room condition is very good. No mosquito is biting. Fan and mosquito net is provided in the room. Wifi quality is excellent. Wifi is available for 24 hours in lobby and first floor even in the absence of power because of generator running. Food quality is good. Breakfast is buffet every day. Lot of food varieties available.All staff members are very cooperative. Laundry washing is good. Location is in city centre.Owner himself is manager. All feedback is taken positively and attended quickly. The owner has got right atitude.

Centrally located but noisy hotel

The hotel is centrally located near the market. Expect some noise pollution! TucTucs in front of the entrance!
Lobby is packed with man,. As a female you may not feel very comfortable. The hotel has no lift. Our room was on the 4th floor!
If you have an afternoon without a program find the water front. Great places to relax!!
The room in the hotel was fully packed with furniture, But everything was there, bath robe, slippers, safe, internet(not always operational) , TV (with CNN!)
The main setback in this hotel were the visiting roaches (not only on the floor :-( )
An okay breakfast buffet was included in the price. Great to eat porridge. There is an okay restaurant i the hotel. Protect yourself against musquitos

Comfortable enough

Visited the hotel several times. In general im very happy about the place. Service is good, rooms are neat and food is tasteful. Only once, I had a small problem during the monsoon season. I slept on the 4th floor and water dropped down on my bed from the ceiling. After that, I was never given a room on the 4th floor.

Love the extra attention from the staff

I decided stayed at Addis Amba after checking in at Bahirdar 2 which was just unacceptable for me and my two kids. Addis Amba has very clean room and a wonderful staff to go with it. I stayed 4 nights and have no complaints. The staff was very attentive to all our needs. The room was always cleaned the moment we left our room. Just the friendliness and the smiles as the hotel will make me come back and stay here. Excellent wifi and DSTV channels disigned to meet the guests' needs are some of the things my kids and I enjoyed. Thank you Addis Amab!!!See you soon.
Just one small complaint, the ala- cart menu. My kids love pizza and ordered the pizza. The cheese wasn't really good and didn't melt on the pizza very well.It was not very good. We tried to order the beefsteak which was unavailable. If you have a menu that has several items on it, make all of them available.
