Extremely primitive

Dirty bathroom, toilet was small, the floor was very dirty, there was spindle tissue in all corners, there comes almost no water out of the shower, there is no window on the toilet there is a hole in the wall, so there render crib around day and night there.
The bed was very hard, hardly slept, the blankets were raw, very used. You live with the family, the kids are incredibly noisy. There's a dog running around when you have to eat.
We wanted to buy water but had to share a small one when she didn't have.
It takes 1 hour down the stairs to reach the hotel. It is not suitable for people with the slightest disability. It is absolutely insane the hiking one has to go on just to get to the hotel. Wrote to the hotel several months before we had to travel and asked how we got there. They sent what looked like an automatic message, wrote back again and they didn't answer in time. First message says there they stand with signs when we stand off the bus in Banaue, we look for those they are not there. One comes and says he's a tour guide and can help us there for 7000 pesos we've well guessed it sounds crazy, but what should we do in the middle of nothing. The hotel tells us when we arrive at the hotel that when it is with Van it usually costs 1500 pesos. We had arranged a trip further with the same guide to tugengarao calls him and cancel and tells the hotel has specified other price so he says okay for transfer 1700 pesos. The hotel should warn about these scams and make sure to pick up their guests when it is intended.

We ordered two nights here, but stayed only one. We had a small room with bunkbeds. It was very cold in the evening and night and we only got some thin, synthetic blankets with no cover. Very low standard of clinliness. The hostess had a little boy, who was left alone most of the time, spilling milk and peeing on the floor, and it was not cleaned.

Batad Rice Terraces is a must see, but have to be physically fit for it is very steep, high, narrow and very very long walk. But once you overcome the almost 1 hour walk with rest, it is worth to see the place. Definitely, get a guide and a stick to go with you. The owner of the place gave an excellent service.

Remote location. Think carefully before booking

Ignore the one star rating. Booked but didn’t turn up as we arrived about 5pm. The accommodation is 45mins trike ride from central Banaue where the coaches drop off passengers. After the trike ride, it’s a half an hour plus hike across unlit rough terrain. So, unless you have your own transport, is fit, arrives very early with minimal luggage. I would advise travellers stay in central Banaue. Trike ride cost 800 peso each way. We ended up forfeiting our booking and stay in central Banaue. We saw the accommodation from a distance when we went to visit the rice terrace in Batad. As it is raining season, the terrain is not for walking in the dark. In fact it’s dangerous.
