Impeccable experience
I had an exceptional 2-day stay at the Amilhan hotel, a cozy, welcoming and tastefully decorated room!
The manager of the premises is very kind and will do his best to make your stay the best possible.
I recommend with my eyes closed!

THE WORST PLACE EVER
ES UNA ESTAFA! IS A SCAM!
No pudimos dormir del horrible olor que salía del baño, como si la habitación estuviera sobre un fosa séptica. Tuvimos que poner mantas y toallas para intentar que no saliera el olor. El colchón, por llamarlo de alguna forma, era como una colchoneta con varias capas de edredones bajo las sábanas para simular un colchón normal…
Al día siguiente decidimos marcharnos de buenas maneras solicitando el reembolso de las dos siguientes noches y nos dijeron que no había problema. Para nuestra sorpresa se adelantaron a booking diciendo que no nos habíamos presentado en el hotel cancelando la reserva y no poder poner un mal comentario, por eso no te piden la documentación al llegar, entiendo que es su forma de proceder, bien estudiada, por eso tiene esa buena nota en booking. Que manera de estafar y estropear las vacaciones en un país tan maravilloso.
"We couldn't sleep due to the horrible smell coming from the bathroom, as if the room were over a septic tank. We had to put blankets and towels to try to keep the smell from escaping. The mattress, if you could call it that, was like a mat with several layers of comforters under the sheets to simulate a normal mattress... The next day, we decided to leave amicably, requesting a refund for the next two nights, and they told us there was no problem. To our surprise, they preemptively contacted Booking, claiming that we hadn't shown up at the hotel, canceling the reservation and preventing us from leaving a negative comment. That's why they don't ask for documentation upon arrival; I understand that it's their way of operating, well-studied, which is why they have such a good rating on Booking. What a way to scam and ruin a vacation in such a wonderful country."

Great but has potential to be unreal
We chose amihan as our first spot in siargao as we wanted to be close to cloud 9.
Larry the groundskeeper was lovely and really helpful with everything when we arrived and was ready to answer any questions we had, helped us rent a scooter even thoughwe changed our mind and rented a car instead.
Pros
Good a/c not too noisey
2x water bottles in room
Tea coffee making facilities
HOT shower..!
Nice big bathroom with towels and shampoo block
Tv in room (i dont know why people would watch tv in paradise but hey)
Massive bed with an actual duvet and the softest sheets ive ever slept on
Nice big front area with comfy lounge seats and table
Cons
Water wasnt refilled every day
Ants were in the kettle so we couldnt boil water
No reception to ask for anything if we needed it at night time.
No food on site, a breakfast option would have been nice
In a way it felt like an air bnb where you dont meet the owners.
However it is a really nice place with a great sleep, its really close to cloud 9 and shaka is 1 min walk from amihan where you can have fresh breakfast fruit bowls and good coffee. White banana is a trike ride away for awesome food too.
Having stayed at €20 spots since amihan i realise how nice amihans is. I was a bit suspicious that theres no reviews on TA but Booking has lots of good ones.
