Lovely place a little secluded

Wonderful little quieter place. Are you looking for a quieter place, cozy, good service and lovely sea and nature nearby. This is the place for you.
If you want newly built with top facilities, always hot water, maybe you should choose something else. Super nice and good service

Great introduction to the Philippines!

Tony and her staff ensured a perfect introduction to the Philippines for us- a boisterous and wound up couple from California. It was easy to schedule a boat shuttle to Coron Town for day trips, but we preferred lazing about around the pool, sampling local rums, getting massages and chatting with our new friends in the restaurant. The staff has a family vibe and the resort is not too swanky, not crowded with partiers. By the time we left, we were ready to island hop the rest of our journey- having left some of our western neurosis behind. Thank you, Salamat!

A corner of tranquility ✨

This complex is very pleasant and peaceful, far from the city; you need to take a small boat to get there
We spent a short stay there with friends, and it was really great! Breakfast and restaurant on-site are perfect.
Massage services available.
The accommodations are not luxurious but very good for a few days
I recommend it!

Serious hygiene issues and poor handling of concerns

I was initially given a room that had long hair in the shower and showed signs it had not been cleaned. After raising this, I was moved to a second room.
The second room had visible blood stains on the bedsheets, which is a serious hygiene concern. I have video evidence of this. There was also a persistent mechanical or motor noise throughout the night.
Because this property is on an island and it was late at night, finding alternative accommodation was not realistically possible. I left the island the following morning due to the conditions.
Despite reporting these issues to the property at the time, I was refused a refund for the unspent night and felt my concerns were not taken seriously.
This is not about luxury. It is about basic cleanliness and appropriate handling of legitimate guest concerns. Travellers who prioritise hygiene and responsive customer service may wish to consider other options.

Discovery Island Resort was incredible. The property was so chilled and tranquil. The room, pool, restaurant and the grounds were lovely and spotlessly maintained.
But most of all the management and staff were wonderful.
Toni and her team were always courteous and efficient...and made us feel welcome the whole time.
Can't wait to stay there again.
Thankyou so much for a wonderful stay.
