Greatness of Cordillera Inn, Vigan City

We were so astounded of the ancestral heritage atmosphere of Cordillera Inn. It’s a way of living in the past and we felt like we belong there. The Filipino food was great. The ambiance of the room & dining room are full of architectural Spanish style and the details.
Along the street of Crisologo, you can hear the people strolling & the sound of the kalesas. There are so many things to do, you can buy at the vendors, have coffee @ Starbucks, walking distance, and choose your preferred restaurants.
Overall, we feel happy, serene and the satisfaction of staying there at this hotel.
The pickup/ transfer to Vigan city was excellent!. Lito, our driver was right on time when we landed in Laoag City, Ilocos Norte at the very early wee hour of the morning. Our tour guide, Albert was sooo knowledgeable of the Vigan history. He was the best we ever had experienced. Our whole experience was one of the best vacations we ever had.
Thanks soooo much for a once in a lifetime experience! ♥️♥️♥️

Very nice hotel in historical building

The hotel is located in an historical building dating from the early 1800's. Very impressive lobby. Friendly staff. We had a big room with a/c, however no safe in room. Small tv with a number of English language channels. Free bottled water daily. Some street noise, even if street is closed to car traffic, but nothing major. Mattress is more or less comfortable (ok for two nights). Good size bathroom with sufficient light. Decent water pressure and lukewarm water. Room is cleaned on a daily basis (leave key) with fresh towels provided. No elevator, so be prepared to walk up, however staff will assist you with luggage. A bit of a problem getting into the wifi, however once you connect, everything worked fine. Good breakfast (Filipino or continental). Pre-order as not all menu items are available. Friendly staff. We had the Filipino breakfast with the Chicken tocino, farm fresh egg, toast, butter and marmelade. Good strong, hot coffee. Within walking distance of the downtown attractions (cathedral, dancing fountains, ...). Lots of shops nearby, as well as a supermarket. You will not go hungry, as empanada shops and other restaurants are close by. Recommended.

Good location, but in dire need of upgrade

Stayed two nights with a tour. Great location, beautiful colonial building (no elevator), reasonably quiet. The rooms are in dire need of upgrade. Decor is very basic and some common-sense features are lacking: no light switch near the bed, only one power jack in the room, located on the opposite wall from the desk (I got an extension cord upon request). The wall-unit AC was ancient and very loud. Reasonably comfortable bed and pillows.
Bathroom: shower with poor water pressure and difficult-to-adjust water temperature; no spare roll of toilet paper (which seems to be a constant in the Philippines). Very slippery shower floor.
No wifi in room (unacceptable in 2020).
Poor breakfast.

Cordillera !nn

As soon as you enter the front foyer your taken back in time! There are magnificent antiques throughout the whole Hotel.
Double Room ( very noisy if you get the corner room )
* Pluses ~ Friendly staff
Lovely decor
Close to everything
Nice breakfast
*Needs work ~ Noisy A/C
No hot water
Poor Wifi (had to go to the foyer for it to work

Could improve on food taste

We ate at the Cordillera Inn restaurant because they had available seating right at Calle Crisologo. Prices seemed decent but unfortunately, the taste was quite insufficient. We tried their dinakdakan, kare-kare bagnet, and sisig. The kare-kare bagnet had a bland, watery sauce and barely any veggies. It could have been better.
