A cold escape with so much warmth
WE LOVED OUR STAY. The apartment was perfect for the two of us. The heated closet was incredible, I don't know why we don't have them in Canada. The sauna was perfect. The location was fantastic and could xc ski in and out. We didn't know what to expect from Finland but we were blown away and can't wait to return.

First class
Very clean and well equipped. Everything you need for self catering. There were 4 of us in an apartment that could sleep 7. It would be abit tight with 7 but we were fine. The twin room fitted 2 6ft men , no probs. Rooms are off a central corridor as opposed to outside door ( Linna apartments). A good thing is that the ski store is also inside the building. Again, this is better than the linna. Very close to the resort centre. Very quiet slopes, if you want the crazyvapres ski. This is not the place for you. But if you want a relaxing skiing holiday, youve got it. 5 out of 5. Will return again.

Great stay but needs a few improvements
This is our second visit to Pyhä and strangely we were allocated the same apartment as last year. But this time self catering.
With lessons learnt from last year we went straight to the restaurant for dinner.
The apartment was clean and tidy but a few things do need a little attention since we visited last. The light switch in the toilet didn't always work and needed a firm touch to turn the light on, one of the spot lights in the kitchen area needs replacing, and the top draw front was falling apart.
The welcome folder that was here last year was no where to be seen, instead only the same information that we'd been given by our Crystal rep was left from at least 2 previous occupiers.
Again no instructions on how to operate the sauna, but my son did an Internet search this time and got it working. The button above the cooker, we thought last year couldn't possibly be for the sauna, is in fact the extractor fan but again no instruction to tell you this. So this year the sauna was in full use and perfect.
The only other negative was one of the families on the same floor thought it ok for their 4 children to use the corridor as a play area because it was far too cold to play outside, so we had running up and down screaming and trying to get into other apartments including ours from the sound of the keypad, this went on for 45mins until we went out and they were politely asked to stop.
Despite the niggles the apartment is clean, warm and comfortable beds, the slopes are 2 mins away and a perfect base for a week skiing/snowboarding.

Great aparements with only minor flaws
We were very mostly satisfied with out apartment. It was almost new and in perfect, clean condition. It had everything you need for a week or so stay in there. Just be aware of couple things. First it wasn't very warm, especially floors were really cold so bring your woolly socks. Second for some reason the sauna temperature can not be adjusted. So it can be too warm or too cold depending what you like. Third there are automatic lights in bathrooms that sounds like good thing but they are so bright they illuminate whole bedroom, which is not nice when someone else tries to sleep. Oh and the second bedroom in two bedroom apartement has not window at all, so it feels like more a closet. But anyway, if those things do not bother you too much then this place is recommended

Fabulous Accomodation - lacking communication
While this accommodation was wonderful and i highly recommend it - we did have a lot of trouble obtaining the exact location before our travel. we received the address the day before our stay, which is 2km from the bus stop and at -25deg at night was not going to work for our family to walk. The accommodation said they couldn't help us with any transport ideas, taxi etc. so we were left grappling for transport on the day of our arrival. Most disappointing. So if you find yourself in this spot - there are 2 taxi services. Try them!
