Perfect 1 night stop over

We stopped here for 1 night and would definitely come back. The reception staff were lovely and spoke slowly so that we could converse in French- which we really appreciated! The rooms had air conditioning and enough space for all four of us. The hotel bathroom was a little dated but lots of hotels that aren’t chains are similar in France. We really enjoyed the breakfast, it was tasty and plentiful- around €9 per person continental style with lots of croissants, bread, spreads, ham, cheese, yoghurts, juice and coffee. The pool was also lovely and a much needed cool off for the kids. Not far from the centre of bourges but we had a car- which I think is essential. All in all a lovely, welcoming hotel which was just what we needed. We booked through booking.com with no problems.

The hotel itself was fine but there were some quirks that we found odd although the hotel allowed dogs oddly they were not allowed in the garden? Also, there were no tea and coffee making facilities in the room. We found this rather strange.

Can do better.

Meh! Cold welcome! Aging rooms. Borderline 3 stars. Unpretentious breakfast room. Trays ready but waste as we do not eat everything.

To flee

Booking made on the booking.com website with a cancellation and refund announced until the day before the stay. Received an email from them the day after booking stipulating that they did not make cancellations or refunds from 14/03/2025. I made the reservation on 13/03/2026. Their email was therefore wrong I did not pay attention. I requested the cancellation of my booking on booking and 3 weeks later still no refund and of course I no longer had the room. I called the hotel and I was told they would not refund because they had sent and emailed. I’m told that I wouldn’t win anyway even if the date announced in their email is completely wrong.
I’m told that if they can sell all their rooms I’ll get a refund. Of course after the date of stay I contact them again and surprisingly they remained rooms not sold. The person clearly tells me that they don’t want to be at a loss but they don’t make money off of us.
This hotel is a must-see because they sell rooms by lying on booking.com
And reading the other comments I am not surprised at their lack of professionalism and honesty

The property is looking dated and the room we had was dated but can not fault the the comfort or cleanliness of this hotel. We only stayed one night on our way through and the staff could not have been nicer or more helpful. Thank you.
