An address remarkable for its comfort and the welcome of a rare humanity of its manager

This assessment, very personal, raised to two voices, would like to reflect an amazing and rare human encounter, worthy of a Christmas tale, as one can judge. Without going into detail, while we were at the end of the Drôme, my wife, who was in a state of great fatigue, increased by the prospect of my imminent hospitalization for a rare disease, learned of the death of one of her cousins who was very dear to her in terrible conditions following a gross medical error due to negligence. She wanted to be on the spot, in a small rural municipality of Tarn, despite her fatigue, when it was necessary to consider 7 hours drive. There was only one hotel, in Carmaux, 7 kilometers away; although having seen on the hotel's website that it was sold out, my wife called at the very end of the evening [on Ash Wednesday] several times, without success. From the hospital, the next day, at 7 a.m., I called the hotel manager, Mr. Jeremy Chaba, who confirmed that the hotel was complete. I explained to him the situation simply, its importance to my wife; he listened to me with great empathy and committed to remember me in the morning with a solution. I told him that my wife would have to be able to leave within an hour because of her fatigue and the length of the journey. He told me not to worry and, indeed, he called me back less than an hour later, with the release of a room. I do not have enough qualifiers to put into words all that he has thus offered in an increasingly harsh world: listen, kindness, relief, generosity, or rather charity, in the most absolute sense of the word, humanity simply. He immediately took matters into his own hands with my wife, which changed the context from top to bottom. She was able to hit the road much more serenely, happy to be able to find and surround her family. It is now she who will speak.
Throughout my stay, I was treated to the best care. The hotel is absolutely quiet, being very well soundproofed (there was a birthday party the second night, which I heard absolutely nothing about). The bedding is perfect. The breakfasts are hearty and excellent. In short, this hotel and its manager are a real providence; another important point: this gratuitous generosity calls in return to the one who receives it the best of himself in order to prove himself worthy. In a word, good, in all areas. Thanks be to Mr. Chaba for all that he has given in abundance.

Simple, clean adequat and most pleasant

My husband and I have stayed here for the past 6years, while visiting my family, in and around Carmaux. Each visit we have been welcomed royally by the Bouchards. Their petit dejuner of croissants and baquettes are the best. Though it is not the most elegant of hotels,, it is comfortable and we look forward each year to stay for a few days.

Hôtel vétuste

Malgré un petit rafraichissement sur la façade et dans les chambres, l’hôtel reste vieillot. Les chambres sont basiques et la propreté n’est pas au rendez-vous. Seul point positif le patron est très sympathique.

Vaste chambre bien fraîche et calme. Sanitaires impeccables. Literie très confortable. Petit déjeuner généreux. Hôtelier très accueillant et disponible. Revient même à 23h30 expliquer le fonctionnement de la climatisation.
