Avoid it

The hotel has a good location, just in front of the tube station, even if it’s far from the centre.
There were bed bugs in the room which is disgusting and we had bites too. I did not sleep the night.
The reception told me to send an email, but I still did not have an answer. I am now disenfecting all my clothes and bags, which is giving me a lot of distress.
The hotel is very outdated and require a deep cleaning and a full refurbishment.
Terrible experience.
Avoid it!

Improvement Needed

I have stayed at the Novotel Charenton‑le‑Pont several times, and while the location is convenient, the hotel has ongoing issues that need attention. The rooms are very dated and clearly in need of refurbishment.
I recently experienced a serious booking problem: my reservation was cancelled without my request. Accor blamed the hotel, and the hotel insisted that I had cancelled it myself, which I had not. I was forced to rebook at a higher rate, and the hotel refused to refund the difference. This was handled poorly and without accountability.
My main concern, however, relates to insect bites. On multiple stays I have suffered bites, some of which were quite concerning. This is not an isolated issue—other guests have reported similar experiences. When I informed reception, the response showed little interest or urgency. I now bring repellent spray to reduce the risk, which is not something I should need to do in a hotel of this standard.
I do have further bookings, but I am reluctant to cancel them as I am unsure whether the hotel would process a refund correctly. Overall, the hotel requires significant improvement in both maintenance and customer care.

came to hotel and receptionist informed us that there are some issue on the floor and we cannot check-in and send us to other Novotel. no advance notification and intention to stop us for spending extra 1 hour travel to check-in.
poor post-action since I have raise TWO complaint with customer care but no one answering my email. very disappointed to Accor group and Novotel management team.

I would not necessarily book this hotel privately

The rooms have no air conditioning, and in some cases, despite requests, no fan was provided. Service staff not particularly friendly. On the terrace, some planks were defective and they were tripping hazards, especially in the evening. The terrace was not lit then. It was also dirty with cigarette butts, as it was not swept. The beds were good

The Novotel in Charenton has a great location in a nice a quiet part of Paris minutes away from metro stations and in an aerea full of charming bistrots. However I would not recommend to stay at this hotel during the summer as there is practically non AC except for a very weak flow of cooler air which doesn’t help and they provide a big fan but in +30 temperatures even at night it just moves hot air. Pity because I do like this hotel
