Lovely family run hotel with a great sea view. The bed was very comfortable and the room spotless. Free parking in front. Loved the breakfast with sea view.

Change your profession.

The arrival went well after all!! We managed to find a spot in the hotel's sports parking, and the young host's welcome was quite friendly. Glancing at the rather worn facade (old sign, peeling paint), I had high hopes for the room with a sea view upgrade. Clearly, the view is there, but what a disappointment to find ourselves in a room with colors reminiscent of an Asian bamboo grove, far from the beautiful Basque greens and the lovely red rooms shown on the website. Come on, it's the weekend and the view is beautiful. The bedding is comfortable. I am reasoning with myself. Well-located, the hotel allows quick access on foot to St. Jean de Luz or Socoa. In any case, we would not have been able to move by car since we were blocked for almost 24 hours by another vehicle. Having pointed this out to the "charming" hotel manager, I received a magical "yes, and?" as a response and solution. Similar to her response regarding the waste of drinking water in the shower (count on a good 5 minutes of water loss before getting hot water), "the hotel is large!" There are 16 rooms!!! One should not take advantage. At checkout, there was no question about the quality of the stay. She doesn't care. Other guests will book after us. The breakfast is decent and the view is frankly nice. However, neither the managers nor the hotel deserve their claimed 3 stars.

Very good experience, we recommend...

Great location in Ciboure, with ocean view at least from the dining room and certainly from some rooms. Ours no but nevertheless quite correct with very good bedding. Very hearty and high quality lunch.

Nice hotel, well located

Hotel Agur Deneri is a nice little hotel in a good location in Ciboure / Saint-Jean-de-Luz. Both town centres are within easy walking distance.
The hotel is perfectly controlled via Google maps and there is ample free parking in front of the hotel.
We had booked a room with terrace because there were the biggest/widest beds here. The view of the harbour / bay of Saint-Jean-de-Luz is fantastic.
Unfortunately, the air conditioning units are located directly on the terrace. Next time we would book a room with balcony;).
The service is very attentive, English speaking and very nice. Breakfast is typical French and good.

Getting to know the Basques of Saint-Jean-de Luz

If you have booked without bothering about budget accommodation, then expect a good deal by taking a room on the North Eastern side of this hotel. Great location with panoramic view of the port and Saint-Jean-de Luz. Since there is no restaurant near the hotel, taking a walk through the stairs to the waterfront area or driving to the city center is a good option to discover the surroundings. Very friendly hosts. The small reception desk is opened for a limited time to allow guests to check in. Some valuable information about the surroundings are on fliers near the reception and in each room there is a catalog with nearby restaurants filed with price categories.
