Cosy and elegant rooms in an old village in the Bourgogne district

The hotel overlooks the old church and the village market place. The location of the village is close to the Burgundy wine areas, in particular Chablis and very close to the village Noyers which is absolutely superb, but where accommodation costs the double.
Our room was large, perfectly renovated and decorated with style.
The couple that runs the place are really nice and if you speak or at least understand French you're in for a treat! Sit back and relax and listen to Serge - on any subject of your choice he will give thoughtful and amusing opinions.

Nice place off the beaten path.

We looked at a place to stay somewhere between Paris and Lyon as we did not want to drive the entire way in one day and we certainly found something we can recommend. The place is in a small typical French village off the beaten path but still not very far from the express motorway. The restaurant and guesthouse is run by a nice couple who were very generous with their time and told us about the history of the village and its surroundings. They also cooked for us a very good typical French dinner. The rooms are recently renewed and spacious and very clean, so don´t let the look of the old house fool you. The prices are very reasonable so you get a lot for your money.

Charming, authentic restored rooms in a small old French village easily reachable from A6

Family suite was fantastic, spacious and a delightful mix of old and modern decor - tres sympa, in a recently restored historical village building of some age. (Across the road from Les Epis d'Or bar). Top room in the attic was full of the old beams and a 5' nothing door. (But plenty of room to stand up in).
Free parking in the main square in front of the church felt safe.
Breakfast was inclusive, it was large French continental and the fresh ground coffee fantastic. Great value for money we were a family of 3, breakfast 2 bedrooms and a sitting room, all in for 95E.
What was there not to like ? Well it's a small French village with only one restaurant which we tried to book at 6:50pm on a Thursday night out of season. Unfortunately it was full and Les Epis d'Or did not serve evening food. Casino shop had just closed at 7pm and we did not want to drive to Avallon (10km +). Fortunately there was a Pizza van in the square and so we ordered 3 different Pizzas and sat in bar area of Les Epis d'Or ate our Pizza with a bottle of wine from the bar until closing - around 8:30pm. (Could also have eaten in dining area of suite). Pizzas we excellent and good value for money. We enjoyed ourselves but not everyone will under similar circumstances. Maybe the "publicitee" of Les Epis d'Or could mention the lack of evening meal/need to reserve local restaurant. Finally if you dislike pigeons, then don't go near the church or look to the eves of the buildings!

Certainly worth a detour: unique chambre d'hotes

One should in no way be deceived by the simple exterior of the property Serge and his wife Babette (on weekends) guarantee a unique offering. Our room was spacious, you might even say huge (> 60m2). The room is deliberately sparsely decorated, but is equipped with all comforts, including a very comfortable seating area and perfectly functioning WiFi. Even the bathroom is large and modern in design. Our room on the first floor also offered a beautiful view of church and lively village square. The only point of attention was the small bed. But Babette told us that a kingsize bed has been ordered and will be installed within a few days. With this adaptation of the bed is the room in 100% perfect order. Take the time to sit on the terrace in front of the property and savour life in a small French village. The same feeling one may experience in the cozy café-restaurant, where simple but tasty meals (3 course menu for 15 to 20 euros) are served. Breakfast is generous to French standards: bread, croissants, jam, egg, fruit and yoghurt. Highly recommended, not only for those who are just passing through (8km from A6), but also for everyone who wants to stay a few days in a very nice hotel in a beautiful setting.

Impeccable

Nous avons payés 143€ pour deux nuits avec les petits déjeuner Tout était très bien grande chambre belle salle de bain avec petit produits. Le tout dans un état impeccable.les petits déjeuners très copieux.
Par contre au deuxième étage pas conseillé au personnes qui ont des problèmes articulaires.
