Just 3 km from Mâcon, this B&B is set in a renovated house, dating from the 13th century. Surrounded by a garden, it offers a furnished terrace and a large trampoline. Guests can ask the 24-hour reception about the activities in the area. All of the soundproofed rooms at Le Clos de Flacé are uniquely decorated. Each room features a desk, a TV and a private bathroom. Some of the rooms also have a four-poster bed. An American breakfast is included and served every morning in the communal lounge. The owners can also prepare dinner with traditional dishes from the region, upon prior reservation and with an extra cost. At Le Clos de Flacé, a washing machine and free Wi-Fi are also available. Free and secure private parking is possible on site for cars and boats and covered, secured parking is available for motorcycles. Cluny Abbey is 15 km from the B&B. This property will not accommodate hen, stag or similar parties. Cash is the only accepted method of payment. Please note that the evening meal is at an extra charge and must be booked in advance. For reservations and arrival on the same day, please contact the property after booking in order to arrange check-in. Contact details can be found on the booking confirmation. I think I was here in 1965/ 1966

I believe I stayed at Clos Le Flace in 1966. I did an exchange with the youngest daughter of the house whose name was Ann-Marie. Her father was Phamacist, his pharmacy was in Macon. I share a room with Anne-Marie. I recall 2 other sisters, Genevieve, a beautiful young woman, aged about 21, who was entering a convent. There was an older sister who was visiting with her husband and who was expecting their first child. Sadly the baby died in the womb, a great tragedy. I believe there was a brother who was a priest. At the time, the garden, which was huge was very unkempt. I don’t remember the entrance being so close to the road. Maybe the access was changed. I recall a wooden sink in the kitchen and they had maids who came each day to keep the house tidy. The windows were shuttered. Do I remember the basement, now a wine cellar? I believe I do. As a 16 year old with poor command of the French language I was graceless, and missing my boyfriend who became my husband and we’ve been married now for 52 years. I wonder what happened to the family and would like to apologise for being so graceless when they were so kind. Patricia Bunce née Hart

Superb B&B with Amazing Evening Meal Available

A group of 5 motorbikers stayed at this amazing B&B on our way home from Morzine. We had three of the fabulous individually decorated rooms which were all lovely. We were welcomed at 5pm (recommend not arriving early as the Gates to the Property may none closed until then !) and showed to covered parking and a garage area to park our three motorbikes, the gates were closed again after our arrival so great secure parking.
We took advantage of the evening meal which was several courses with wine and an aperitif and coffee afterwards, the meal was superb and very welcome. After a lot of travelling it is ideal not to have to go out again to eat and to be fair you wouldn't find a better value or more delicious meal anywhere.....it was a real treat !
Breakfast was also varied and very good and was topped off by being offered eggs and bacon... result !
We would have no hesitation in returning to this lovely B&B and recommend it highly.

A lovely 2 night stay

Excellent welcome on arrival and a splendid evening meal which was so welcome after a long journey.
Well appointed room and a lovely garden to relax in ..
Our hosts were very obliging and it is possible to picnic in the garden which we did on the second night .Enjoyed the local Macon wine with food from a delicatessen
Most people stay one night en route but Macon and Cluny are worth a visit.
Driving around the Macon vineyards is a good way to spend a few hours so there is plenty to see .
Secure parking .
We found the place easily but others didn’t.It is on a lane off the road .Siign posted at the end but could be difficult to spot .

Nice place for a short stop

I selected Le Clos de Flace in my way to South of France. It is next to Mâcon and the main connections but it remains a very quiet place. You will be welcomed and well received. I was pleased but the theme of my room. Also the tenants are quite arranging. Definitely a place to recommend.

Good af, host with the most.

Excellent nights stay. Felt very welcome at this beautiful old French farm house.
The breakfast was tip top and the hosts were both lovely and friendly. I would recommend staying at this place if you want to immerse yourself in a classic French scene.
