Welcome

A big thank you for the late welcome, cozy and very quiet room, hearty breakfast, nothing but happiness, decoration of the rooms in the Provençal style. Location in the center of pretty little streets, free parking very close,

Very enjoyable stay

We thought our stay here at Au Soleil was very good value. We had a lovely front room with a very comfortable bed and ensuite bath, The owners could not have been more helpful and gracious. The highlight of the stay was dinner in the inner courtyard. Delicious food prepared in the kitchen only a few feet away with trailing vines and flowers dropping down from a terrace above. After a hot day in the car, it was wonderfully cool and quiet.
We did not have sat-nav so found it a bit difficult to find the first time as there's a one-way system in the center. But everyone we asked directions of was friendly and helpful. The blue shutters helped!

A warm welcome !

We chose this town en route to Cote d'Azur as a good spot for an overnighter...sadly the town has nothing going for it at all so you need to venture out to Aigues Mortes for dinner or to any of the little neighbouring villages...ask the proprietors for their local advice !
Au Soleil itself has been very nicely renovated and all the rooms are restful,quiet and very comfortable..breakfast outside in the courtyard area is just lovely especially with the sun out...good, generous continental style breakfast with attentive service from our hosts..it looked like all the rooms were occupied overnight which says a lot for the quality of this rather special B & B !

A quiet refuge near the Camargue

Marie and Jean-Francois have revamped a foursquare village house with a central courtyard, and the result is stunning. We three stayed in the suite (two bedrooms with a connecting bathroom) and it was very good value, warm, silent, nicely decorated. We were here for the Camargue andAu Soleil is very well placed for visits there as well as the Petit Camargue to the west, and Arles. Marie and Jean-Francois can fill you in on the delights of Herault et al., but if all you want to do is gaze at flamingoes, white horses, black bulls and the multiple joys of this marshy region - from great egrets to raptors - that is all easy to reach by car (and you do, in essence, need a car to stay here).
The breakfasts are continental, but of the very best: good fresh bread, homemade jams, home-baked pastries and homemade yogurt. Marsillargues boasts little in the way of restaurants (a sushi joint and a pizzeria were open when we were there in late February), but we found a super little place in Lunel Viel a hop and a skip by car, and Arles has a number of very good restaurants. All in all, a classy stay.

Stylish and elegant

The title of my review could equally well describe the owner as well as the house. We spent a night here en route to visit friends and it was very comfortable and peaceful. Especially sitting in the delightful inner courtyard of this lovely house. We had a delicious breakfast and followed Catherine's excellent recommendation for a local restaurant for dinner and some great advice for sightseeing the following day. Charming and very relaxing.
