Wonderfully located. Beautifully decorated and gracious host/owner. Wonderful to have secure parking even for a €€ rate. Request a lower floor if you have any concerns about stairs without railings. All rooms are lovely and the common areas are in the floor above the garage/ street level. The breakfast is very good -no eggs, but fine cheese, breads, yoghurt, fruit. Also be aware that there is a cat in the house if you have allergies. S/he doesn’t go into the bedrooms but does live in the common areas. Air conditioning in all rooms. Would stay there again when in Nimes.

A haven of peace and elegance

A place out of time and the din of the world. Behind a discreet curved street door, opens a preserved building, decorated in a pomp of antique dealers, lulled by the noises of the inner courtyard and where the stay and services are carried by a discreet couple and care.

Excellent boutique hotel in old quarter of Nîmes

Lovely boutique hotel in an old quartier of Nîmes. Only four beautiful rooms but lovely atmosphere. Excellent continental breakfast. Very nice host. Love the little garden. Large spaces. And beautiful decor. Love this place. Little dog and cat and beautiful birds in garden.

Cozy home, warm reception, highly recommend!

We had such a lovely time at La Maison Rousseau. Matt was gracious about our poor timing with check-in and was full of excellent recommendations and advice. The house is…stunning. What a warm, unique and cozy place to come back to after a day wandering around Nimes. Don’t skip breakfast! (Like we did on our last morning, as jetlag and the extremely comfy bed had us sleeping right through our alarm!)
Be sure you give lots of love and pets to Shalom the cat and Huguette the pug, the best furry hosts we’ve encountered yet. It’s a home full of love and history and you can really tell. Thank you for the great stay!

Eclectic house of art, fine stay but no frills.

The chambre d'hotes is well located for touring the Roman sites of Nimes and an 18-minute walk from the station. It is eclectic, with an interesting layout and exceptional artwork. Welcome friendly. The room is fine, with no TV or kettle and just two hangers, little hanging space anywhere. Bathroom good with large bath. Steep stairs to room which may be a challenge for some. Breakfast very healthy. Overall, probably slightly overpriced but will suit art lovers and those wanting some peace.
