Great experience.

Continuing our journey from South to East, we stopped in Macon, an area that counts in our family’s history, and made a reservation in the suburbs, at Chatenay Castle. Our choice was rewarded: on arrival, our host, Christophe, greeted us warmly in the parking lot and drove us to our room, taking the time to go around and describing the services that the hotel offered.
We had the pleasure of staying in “the chicken coop”, the name given to our room because it was built on the former chicken coop of the castle. Nothing wrong with the comfort, decoration and layout of the room, which surprisingly features a kitchenette.
In the evening, Christophe took the order for a bespoke breakfast. In the morning, on time, after a quiet night, we settled under the canopy. Christophe then gave us an overview of the history of this castle, whose origin dates from the 11th century.
We spent some pleasant moments, but were not able to enjoy all that this place offered, such as the park and the cellar, and explore this rich region, but undoubtedly, on our next trip to France, we will remain in the “henhouse” or “stable” several days.

Quiet assured everything was perfect!

Yeah, good! Both the reception and the premises - (except toilet in the bathroom in some rooms - Excellent breakfast very varied and complete - perfect restaurant meal also complete wine lists - I recommend

Very pleasant stay

Successful experience for our 2 night family stay. Everything is there: nice room design, comfortable bedding, delicious dinner, interesting wine tasting and a very welcoming housemaster! The pool this summer will be an amazing plus...

Excellent welcome, superb space

We spent an excellent night in this cottage.
Our apartment was perfect, comfortable, huge master bedroom with large TV, overlooking the terrace-veranda, beautiful shower room, separate toilet, separate kitchen area, second bedroom with 2 beds.
Large closed parking at night.
Very quiet, no noise in this small village, yet a few minutes drive from the highway and Macon.
Tasty breakfast on the pleasant terrace overlooking the garden.
Charming welcome in this castle furnished with taste.
Probably even more pleasant in the summer with its large garden and swimming pool.
We will return without hesitation!

Chateau Chatenay is the best!

Christophe and Stephanie were the best hosts that a guest could ask for. Our extended family of seven stopped for just one night on the way to the French Riviera and I wish we stayed longer. The chateau was great, but best of all was the dinner and visiting with our hosts.
