Chills week of fishing
I never do reviews but after this experience I feel I need to. My wife and I went for a week in June and from the pick up at the airport to the drop off at the airport the hosts were excellent. I fished for the week and the wife chilled and did a bit of sightseeing I had 14 carp all in there 20s and 30s also lost fish which I think were bigger, Mark is a great help he gives you a walk-in talkie and you can call him anytime day or night and he is there to help with anything from photo taking to bringing you a bottle of beer also a big help if you have forgotten any end tackle top guy 10/10.Not to forget Alison the food she serves up is proper restaurant style, her lasagna is unreal plus the desserts lovely .I really could go on for ages, anyone thinking about going GO you will love it, it’s going to be a yearly trip for me from now on.

Trip of a lifetime! 50s, 40s and 30s everywhere!
I mean Wow! What a trip, the best I’ve ever had!! Not sure where to start with Spruce Lake. Firstly the place itself is absolutely stunning, never have i fished at a more idilic place. The owners Mark and Allison are unbelievable hosts, especially as opted for the food package and Allison, being a chef, rustled up some serious grub! Mark did everything you want from an owner, pre baited before I arrived, shown me some hot spots and my god was they hot!! A full catch report is below but breaking my PB 5 times in one session is just unheard of. A real diamond waiting to be found this lake and will in no time be one that’s fully booked year round I have no doubt. Thanks so much for an amazing trip Mark and Allison, I will see you again in September!!

Not just in the summer: A warm welcome in the winter too!
Echo all the positive reviews from others. The difference was that we stayed in December when it was cold and foggy outside. Alison and Mark looked after us very well, making sure our room was warm and providing us with a delicious evening meal. We slept well in the comfy bed and had a lovely breakfast. Limoges is not far away and the nearby historic town of St Leonard de Noblat is well worth a visit. All in all, Spruce Lake, whether you're a fishing fan or just a lover of the beautiful Limousin region is a super place to stay - summer or winter.

Another relaxing stay
Third stay with Mark & Alison and as good as ever and we were welcomed back as friends!
The place is lovely & chilled, fishing great and the food is excellent!
The rooms are lovely and clean and there are lots of nice little touches with a bowl of lovely chocolates, decent tea & coffee, comfy beds, great toiletries etc. if you stay, make sure you have both breakfast and an evening meal (you probably won’t need to eat in between!) - I can highly recommend the eggs Benedict, French toast, bacon brioche and the dinners are fabulous especially if you’re lucky enough to have Alison’s banoffee pie!! Be prepared to put in weight!
Also, if you enjoy fishing you won’t be disappointed as there are plenty and a decent size. There were a couple of PB’s for our group this holiday.

Superb
This is my second trip to this little paradise & I do believe it is better than last year, which I didn't think was possible. The setting is beautiful, the accommodation is excellent & the food is something to savour. I went for the fishing,which is top class but wether your a fisher person or not you will definately come away Happy & content as the owners can't do enough to please their guests. Superb!!
