Property not to BOOK!!!!

Hello, we spent a weekend for Valentine's Day in Lille. For this we have booked a hotel room in the blacksmith’s inn. We booked for 2 people with 1 night and had two breakfasts. As soon as we arrived no parking space was possible due to the location of the hotel which is at a crossroads of a departmental. Moreover, in the room we had the pleasure of discovering a rose or should I say a “misery cover”. Indeed, the windows were lined with mold (see photo) accompanied by a flaking paint. The toilet door does not close, the blinds are torn and the carpet stained and damaged. To relax we wanted to take a bath with the whirlpool tub. However, it was impossible to take a bath and even a shower since the water was cold when it was only 9:30 pm. It should not be normal to have to adjust to catering services in order to be able to take a bath/shower. The room was noisy due to the restaurant just below. When we arrived at breakfast (9:30) which I remind is 14.90€ per person no table was cleared. Therefore our installation was impossible. We had to wait for a lady to come rid and bring us the necessary to serve us at the buffet (cup, plates, cutlery). There was almost no salty and sweet food available. The coffee machine was out of order, there was no milk, brioche, bread, pastries, bread... in short, nothing was left except yogurt. We asked for juice and bread so we could eat. No replenishment or disposal was carried out. Under our table were pieces of nails (see photo) and a whole pile of garbage. Surely the housekeeping should not have been done in the service of the old lady. We decided to take butter but to no avail since the butter was itself expired (see photo). When we left the receptionist was short and synthetic with very few polite formulas. Which closes in style this pitiful weekend.
No formula of politeness or excuse can compensate this deplorable stay.

Interesting and quiet stage at the road nodes

Very good reception from Staff and Management the next morning. No private parking but possibility to park with patience.
Correct bedding and comfort. Food and breakfast choice and very hearty. Hotel tastefully renovated respecting the age and history of the place

Super nice. Very welcoming and attentive staff. The evening meal was delicious and fine. The breakfast very nice.

Top restaurant - terrible hotel

The restaurant is top: good service in a cozy setting and delicious food. Price/quality highly recommended.
However, the hotel is not recommended: small, basic, shabby, damp and not clean. No staff present during the night.
The breakfast is also substandard: no buffet as announced. No eggs or hot food, not enough bread, ...
