GRAND IN EVERY RESPECT

Château De La Bainerie is a fantastic 16th century that you can stay in as a base for nearby Angers, as we did. The rooms are huge and stately and the chateau's delightful rural isolation set on a hill within wonderful varied grounds is quite the experience. We were allocated the Kinds Suite which is massive. The bathroom was rather nice. Owner Dan and his mum Branka run the operation and are wonderful hospitable hosts. Branka's breakfasts are worth the price of admission alone. The room tariff is extremely reasonable and offers everybody the affordable opportunity to stay in a chateau at least once in their life.

Castle of Cinderella

The outdoor castle is great but it is the cold shower when you arrive in your room! We had the “Queen” room which seemed more like the “Cinderella” room because it was so infected with cobwebs and bugs in the curtains that served to darken the room.
On the desk of the room it was however indicated not to touch the curtains risk getting caught on the head!!!!!
I also give you the moldy state of the whole room especially in the bathroom:(:(
At breakfast, the unfortunate employee (who alone took care of the whole castle!) had not received her delivery of pastries and bread. She made with the means of the board and with a stroke of her magic wand thawing bread in the oven which also did not work!!!
What an adventure!
I would never recommend spending a night in this ruin unless you have a taste for camping!

A HORROR

A BIG SCAM!!! Person at the reception, uncleaned room with drink in the mugs...no heating. Stay open to all winds. The photos of the site are at least thirty years old... RUN AWAY.

Quiet comfy accessible castle in a wine trip at Loire

It's an unique castle full of character, unpretentious, relaxed and close to cute Angers, full of gastronomic choices and the capital of Chenin Blanc, the iconic region white grape. Rooms are spacious, clean, comfy and the starry nights in silence are perfect for disconnection. Service was friendly and discreet. It was my base for a work wine trip and I will definitely come back.

A catastrophic welcome.

It is impossible to enter the castle on day 2 of my stay. No one to accommodate ... a door with a code box whose operation nobody explained to me. A call number display in case of problems but no one picks up .... I wanted to run away but my things had stayed in the room...
