Hidden Gem

It's surprising I've travelled twice to Ghana in the past but always drove past this hotel at Tema without checking it out because it's sort of hidden in plain sight. Finally chanced across it on my recent trip and was impressed with the quality customer service we received at the reception which was sorely lacking at previous hotels I've stayed at in Ghana. Room 156 was a nice room, the only regret being it did not have a view of the amazing pool. Cleaning was average but some days we were not supplied with water or toiletries and had to call the reception for assistance. Breakfast was self-service and average. My partner and I had issues with a particular manager who was quite chatty during breakfast at the restaurant each day. Not every guest is a morning-person and I in particular prefer to have my meals very quietly. Wi-fi was perfect and convenience shops nearby made shopping easier for us. All in all, this hotel offers good value for money and I will definitely stay here again on future visits.

Worse experience

If i could give zero stars i would .
We booked two rooms at this hotel for 2 nights. It was for my wedding. The booking in my emails said deluxe after we had selected the biggest room so when i went to check in i said “deluxe” they took me to a small room and i kept telling the guy that this must be a mistake for the money we spending and how large i need the room to be for the bridal vendors and all to come in the morning and he said this is the correct room. I slept feeling uneasy and contemplating finding somewhere else bigger. I woke up at 5 am ready to shower and get ready for makeup and photography crew. No water! There was no water at all and i reported this and was told it would be fixed. Clearly a bug hotel as this should have a reserve water tank! And to top it off cleanliness is nonexistent. I literally had to fish out old pubic hair from the shower drain with tissue. I was disgusted and stressed. After several attempts to find out what’s going in with the water and reception just telling me i need to wait i was ready to leave and find somewhere to shower they brought me a bucket of cold water to shower . My whole wedding was delayed by 3 hours due to this.. only to find out later that the room we were given was wrong and have to go to the business exect suite and the lady telling me it was my fault for mentioning “deluxe” . Clearly they have a system to see the type of room we paid thousands of cedis for??they just did not want to take the blame. I requested for a refund for the balance since i slept in a wrong room which was much smaller and cheaper. That sounded like a joke to them.
They sneakly also charged us 20 cedis for breakfast that should be included in the booking which I believe they just took for themselves at reception.
Nothing was done to resolve this and they don’t care. Furniture is so old and rusted. Our bath was so disgusting with old rusting they put a mat to try cover it up.
I regret ever booking this hotel for my wedding. Worse mistake ever
They also started calling non stop harassing us that we need to pay further 200 cedis because we took pictures outside the hotel! Never did the acknowledge the terrible service they
I hope the owner of this hotel does something or this hotel will collapse. The structure and pool is so nice and could easily be one of the best hotels in tema but unfortunately it’s the worse. Beware

Housekeeping

Housekeeping is running a escort service with there guests . Aqua facebook account ! ..faker first class ! They loo k in your baggage .
Food service is very slow , price is expensive . Temperature of the local beer is good .

Not the best hotel .

Kitchen is very slow it takes 1-2 hours . Rooms are to expensive for what they give . AC is most of the time not working or very noisy . Some rooms are leaking water when its raining .
Some people from houskeeping look into your suitcase what you have inside . May be looking for money ?
There's wifi but not every where .

This could so easily become the best hotel in all of Tema!

The staff were brilliant, from the reception/front desk check in to room boys/maids they were brilliant. Of course tips were received, though was not the driver of hard work and great service. The poolside bar staff were great, as were the restaurant front of house team. However, the kitchen staff were a nightmare, the only horror of the hotel! Breakfast was terrible, service sloppy - a simple a-la-carte evening meal of lamb chop chips and veg took over 1hr! Packed lunches ordered the evening before were pretty good salad and main or sandwiches - so good I tried ordering packed lunch for breakfast and evening meal but not allowed! The owner's daughter works brilliant to push this super clean hotel, laundry turn-around in less than 12hrs, though my goodness - those kitchen staffs need a final written warning or cleaned out to make this the best hotel in Tema!
