The room is okay, simple but works. Hot water and warm room okay. But the breakfast is way worst than expected. It’s only oatmeal, ham, cheese and bread. Every day is that, no hot options, for this price you can serve some fruits , yogurt, eggs and sausage or bacon. No vegetables. So my only complaint is about the breakfast and the missing smile of the staff

Reasonable Budget accomodation with poor "Sea Safari"

We were booked into the annex which provides reasonable budget accommodations. Important: if you stay in room 52, don't even think to unplug the white cable in the socket between the windows, which goes back into a cable duct - you would unplug the WiFi router servicing the whole building.
Our experience was soured by an extremely poor "Sea Safari" on August 19, 2025 at 2 pm. After a visit to a whale abattoir on a nearby island, we followed a humpback whale from a fair distance for half an hour and went back to the hotel. There would have been plenty of time to look for another humpback or to visit a nearby iceberg, as advertised. My GPS measured 71 minutes for a trip advertised as 2 hours. Even counting the putting on and taking off the protective gear, the trip lasted only 90 minutes.
I appreciate that they don't want to stress the animals by staying too long too close. As far as I know, the safe distances are 500 meters when going at speed and 50 meters when the motor is idling. Given the angle of view of my camera and lens (10°), the visible part of a humpback should fill the frame at 50 meters and the tail should be half the frame (that's also my experience from tours in Canada and Norway). We definitely never got closer than 250 meters with the engine idle and mostly stayed away further. That was a waste of 1700 DKK for the two of us.
We were to stunned by the sudden return to complain directly to the guide. The guy manning the reception that Sunday didn't appear to be interested in our complaints.
In closing, I don't know if this poor experience was due to the particular guide. You might be more lucky.

Excellent

This is an excellent hotel. Location is good; the sights and the harbour of Aasiaat are within walking disance. There are some nice views. My room was very spacious and comfortable. The hotel offered complimentary airport transfer. Everything was very good; only breakfast was too simple.

Great local hotel in Aasiaat also offering activities.

From The First moment we arrived We felt very welcome. Good standard and fresh rooms with very good beds. Clean and nice. Nice restaurant with a good mix of locals and travelers. The food is typical cafe food. We went on both a kayak tour and a sea rafting tour with Daniel from the hotel. That was really amazing.

Warm and comfortable place.

The only place to stay in Aasiaat. Nice locations, view and comfortable beds. Wonderful breakfast. Could be more smiling crew, but it is maybe the way it is in Greenland. Stayed in a separate apartement. Price is high, but since it is the only place to stay, it might be reasonable.
