Good hotel with room and indoor heated pool, but poor access and on-road parking
✅Liked · We booked a family room which had somehow happened to be only 5GBP costlier than the standard room, so why not.
There was indoor swimming pool which had just the perfect temperature, so I loved it.
The balcony at the front is shared with all other family rooms, so keep the curtains closed.
The restaurant is great. The food at dinner, and for breakfast buffet was great as well.
❌Disliked · There is a pothole ridden road leading up to the hotel, no decent parking space and if you park in front of the hotel to unload your luggage entrance, you'll block off the whole road so have to quickly leave and park elsewhere. There is however a decent bit of space outside the hotel.
Also, the hotel is at least 20 steps down and 50 steps away from the road you have to walk a tiny bit, but they have ramp to roll the luggage on.
The family room skylight can't be blacked out. So, you are going to be woken up really early if the sun rises early. So, use eye mask to sleep.
The family rooms were at -1 level, and there was no elevator, but they had a bell boy to help with the luggage.
The swimming pool is small, but decent sized, so don't expect to be doing freestyle from end to end. It's more for the relaxing and looking out through the windows.
There is also a sauna although the charge to use it is 70 lari for 1 hour for the whole sauna. Ridiculous.

A complete disappointment and too expensive
A complete disappointment.
We stayed in a family room in what claims to be a 4-star hotel. No air conditioning. Windows couldn’t tilt – only fully open – meaning anyone could come in. No mosquito screens.
Bed breakfast, no wifi, overpriced restaurant, …

Nice view, that's all.
We had a cocktail here. They didn't have the wine we wanted, neither did part of the cocktail menu. That's not so bad if it wasn't so ridiculously expensive either. Bad cocktail it was, too. View was nice, fine star gazing on the terrace.

Brilliant view
Nice and quite newly built hotel that is nicely built with stunning views from all rooms, incl private porches. The family rooms with elevator are comfortable, with good use of the space, on a relatively small area. Outside the bar/restaurant there is a large terrace, with super views of the Trinity Church at 2,150 m, and the mountain Kazbek at 5.054 in the background. There are many cheaper places nearby, but if you can afford, you will also get a helpful and service-oriented staff at the purchase

Top class? Not quite
We were a family of 3 who arrived from Tblisi early April week. The roads had traffic and many trailers, but the mountains were covered in snow.
City-bred as we are and being residents of the UAE, the natural beauty was so breathtaking that we didn’t quite notice the long and bumpy 4-hour ride.
Hotel owner Ann had sent a car and one of the most experienced drivers in the region. Shmagi didn’t understand English much but knew the crests and the curves of the mountainous terrain.
Step Inn was quite a surprise - fresh, clean and cute. Our room was a duplex on the second floor with a magnificent view of the mountains. It was especially gorgeous the morning it snowed.
Wish the lower floor of the room had more space, at least enough to sit and enjoy a drink while admiring the view. The upper floor had more space but little view.
The room came with a balcony but it was too cold to sit outside. And small to accommodate 3.
What also needs drastic improvement is their food menu, especially if they hope to welcome guests from different parts of the world.
Breakfast is basic and one is unsure about the freshness of the cold cuts, condiments and bread. There was no toaster for the bread. I spotted one the day I was checking out.
I was told I had to ask for a toaster at the breakfast table!
Language is a handicap too. Only the owner speaks English but she isn’t always there.
The staff are friendly and accommodating, but the restaurant waitress could have done better.
What use is hot, freshly baked bread if you are told you can’t have butter with it, except at breakfast? And then they bring the butter as a favor?
The hotel is not positioned as a bed and breakfast for backpackers. Perhaps it should take steps to be more family-friendly in attitude and services.
Having said that, their hot spa indoor pool with a view of the mountains is a welcome addition to the cuteness of the property and their bed n linen are top grade.
A special mention for restaurant executive Alex who went out of his way to bring the best he could to our table. Made all the difference to our stay!
The hotel is only 8 months old. I am certain they have plans to make it one of the best in the region in months to come.
Would love to revisit when they do.
