Best Hostel in Antigua

The facilities at Maya are unbeatable: impeccably clean showers, tidy common areas, and well-kept rooms all make for a great stay. The beds are by far the most comfortable I've slept on at a hostel, and the guests were very respectful so I slept well during my six night stay. The best part, though, are the friendly employees at Maya! Shoutout to Angel, who had great recommendations for me on things to do and where to eat in Antigua. Maya also has a great happy hour each day and events to socialize with other hostel-goers. I made lifelong friends at this hostel and would recommend this place to anyone staying in Antigua. A bonus, too, is that you get access to the company's other properties in Antigua so if you want a pool or rooftop view you can just hop over to Casi Casa which has equally friendly employees.

Breakfast was honestly better than the more expensive hotel down the street

I came down with a group of people to Antigua and decided to stay an extra day. I didn't know where they were booking yet (Guatemala City or Antigua) so I booked my own lodging. I stumbled upon Maya Papaya through google hotel search by highest reviews on the map closest to the Arco de Santa Catarina. I came across Maya Papaya and it looked great, so I booked a private room. I had no clue at that point that it was a hostel. I found out when I started following them on Instagram and saw that it was the #1 hostel in North America. The stay was magnificent. I will tell you the beds are the same as the more luxurious hotel that my work provided the day before, neither had AC, and the provided breakfast was far superior to that other hotel. It was my first hostel stay, and they made me intrigued to look at more hostels when I travel

The hosts are the best!

Love the hostel! Since I arrived the boys are very friendly which makes the trip easier alone. Everything very clean, they give you 3 breakfast options which is included in the rate and there are events in the evenings. It is also very close to tourist attractions. Overall all very well but I highlight the hospitality of the hosts!!! Angel, Hector, Alexander and Chris are the most! I would definitely come back!!!

Amazing hostel, extremely clean with an awesome breakfast. Decent location in Antigua and would definitely stay again

Good experience.

A great hostel with lovely staff and good service. There is salsa every Thursday, so it's just getting up on the dance floor.
Otherwise there is breakfast every morning. There clean because it is cleaned daily.
