Very comfortable stay
We stayed in the apartment for 8 days. It is part of a small apartment complex, and 4 flats of 3 Bed room each comprise the Service apartment.
Service: This was the best part. Ms Savitha Rao, who manages the SA, was very courteous. When we wanted to extend our stay by a couple of days, she ensured that we did not have to move to another room for the 2 days. And we asked for an electric kettle to boil water for making coffee and got it promptly. There is also an iron box, wifi.
There are 3 staff men who ensure that guests needs are taken care of - very soft spoken and smiling and running around. they were amazing and very helpful. The speak hindi and have also picked up Tamil. Mymother, who is 87+ was well taken care of by them,mainly in terms of timely food and some talk.
Accommodation: It is part of a small apartment complex, and 4 flats of 3 Bed room each comprise the Service apartment. The rooms are spacious (for 2 adults), each having a balcony with strings for drying clothes, TV, wardrobes etc. 2 rooms are adjacent to each other and one is near the kitchen. We had the room near the kitchen and one of the adjacent rooms. How peaceful it is, depends on who is staying the other rooms. We were lucky in that respect - either there was no one or very quiet neighbors. There is a large living cum dining room, with sofas,tables etc. There is a Kitchen in each flat with Gas, microwave, fridge and some basic vessels. We used the kitchen to make instant coffee. We did some basic washing of our clothes in the bathroom and dried them in the balcony and got it ironed from a ironing service provider just outside the apartment.
Food: Food is available on request. Need to inform in advance. We had phulka, dal, subji, dahi, rice for lunch/dinner (whenever we got tired of eating outside). The taste was very good. Breakfast had dosai, idly, poori (any one item).
Location: Since we had gone for December music season, we wanted to be near the sabhas where the events were taking place. This place was close to the hub of the music - Alwarpet, mylapore. (between CP Ramswamy iyer road and TTK road). The sabhas in the area were a max. at a distance of 3kms. One could either walk (15-20 mins) or take an auto (50-60 bucks). Bus stop is also nearby.
The locality is very quiet and lined with trees. There are some fancy restaurants nearby (including a Dog Cafe).
Parking: We were given a covered parking. Roadside parking also can be done (not sure how safe it is).
On the whole, a very good experience. Value for money.

Happy Planet, Happy Guest
This is my first time staying at Happy Planet. I come to Chennai regularly from the US for studies. I have only been here a few days out of what will be a two week stay. Ms. Savita and her staff have been more than accommodating to my needs and requirequments. The service apartment is in a beautiful and charming neighborhood off 4th street near the Raintree Hotel, Terra Earth grocery, salons, etc. Everything is clean and well cared for. For an extra fee (they are making special meals for my dietary needs of kichari). My room is comfortable, bright and has a balcony which opens to greenery and trees. I couldn’t be happier. As a solo woman traveler in India I feel looked after and cared for in a way that will allow me to have the best possible studies.

Pour une nuit
Accueil et aide très attentifs de Savita, la patronne qui fait tout pour nous simplifier la vie et nous conseiller. Un véritable plus.
Les chambres sont vastes, les salles de bain correctes (un effort sur la propreté serait nécessaire).
Situé dans un quartier chic et très calme, un vrai plus dans l’agitation de Chennai
Petit déjeuner très léger et moyen (3 dosais et il a fallu réclamer le thé !)
