We were told that the cottage was not available until the next night but that our existing room was booked so we moved to a smaller room for one night. We were told the cottage would be available the following night. The room was hot and AC did not work properly and in the morning began pouring water onto the bed. As before we were packed and ready to move to the cottage at 10:00.
We were told the cottage was not available. My husband explained we could not stay in the current room due to AC. We were moved to a different room slightly smaller, and informed that the cottage would be ready in the morning.
During the night we heard another family loudly complaining about the AC in their room not working and leaking, they had been checked into our room from the previous night.
In the morning we were packed and ready at 10:00. We were told the cottage was not available and we were offered a room even smaller with one bed, the air con was barely functioning in the room. We were told the cottage would be available in the morning.
My husband complained. The inference was that the resort had done us a favour. My husband told the manager that we were planning to identify alternative accommodation on day seven. We stayed on the promise of further days at the Natraj. My husband informed the manager that we would have been happy to remain in any of the previous rooms we had stayed in or a cottage (except the room with the faulty AC), but that we could not continue packing and moving rooms daily. After an hour of the manager talking to my husband, we were told they could not accommodate our needs. A three bedded room, with AC.
We were all packed, my husband had to find us another room. We were asked to leave our room as they needed to clean it for the next guest. We were allowed to sit in another room whilst my husband sought alternative accommodation.
The location was important as we had travelled from the UK, my daughter for the first time, to spend time with family for Diwali in a nearby village. My Father had become very unwell during the visit, we needed to be close by to support our family. My husband found a room at The Rang Hotel for our final three nights in India.
The resort as a whole is welcoming and clean, the food is fantastic. I found all the staff kind, helpful and professional including the manager. I am sorry to give one star but our enjoyment of our stay was seriously affected by having to continually move rooms. Our comfort was not prioritised. I do not understand why we were misled daily? We trusted them. It would have been better if they had been honest and we could have moved hotels day seven and enjoyed an undisturbed stay for the remainder of our trip. It was very stressful for us and our family, we missed time with them, wasting time packed and moving around.
We were forced to cancel an overnight trip we had booked on the day we eventually had to move hotels. The absolute worst bit was not being able to get to my father each morning, he was admitted to hospital for two nights, he was seriously ill. Moving rooms daily significantly and unnecessarily added to our stress.
We thought we had found a reliable, quality hotel for future visits. I advise caution when booking here! We were not offered any discount for our extreme inconvenience. Shame. Very poor experience. We will not book again.
Whilst awaiting transport to an alternative hotel I googled availability for the next three nights. Several trusted sites were offering availability in cottages including Trip Adviser, Booking.com, Expedia and so on.....
