An experience to remember.

The place is lovely. Very close to the Jew Town and other attractions. It’s a place where even the soap is ginger flavoured. Food is awesome and the hosts, including Saumya, Martin, Manik and Vinu just to name a few were fantastic. They made sure that the guests were comfortable and heeded to their every reasonable request.
Really believe that the people made it a memorable trip and its for them that one would look forward to return.

Inspirational and beautiful treasure trove

A brilliant hotel in Jew Town, central Kochi. The room was spacious and clean with a balcony over the courtyard and a view to the river which was busy with boats. The restaurant was just beyond the courtyard with a beautiful view over the river. Breakfast in the restaurant was abundant with dosa and omelette alongside fresh fruits juice, tea and coffee. They were struggling with LPG shortage due to the war in Iran but it didn't stop the huge amount of food from coming to our table!
The roof-top pool was a relaxing spot to cool down.
The manager was lovely and was very helpful. The ground floor museum had many rooms full of antique statues with knowledgeable staff, most of which were for sale, unfortunately beyond our budget!

Warning for future guests

I need to warn people about the risk of getting bedbugs here. We stayed in room 113 and were bitten by bedbugs. Despite our best efforts we did not manage to get rid of them through our trip in India and have now brought them home and need to pay a large amount of money for treatment. We informed Martin at the time and we asked fora discount of one night as compensation. He checked with the manager, who said they would not do this. Of course, really they should be paying for the full cost of the treatment. Based on the response, I did not feel that the management took us seriously and I don't think that they will be treating the room. So be aware, if you come away from this hotel with either lines or triangles of three incredibly itchy bites, it will cost you and you will not get reimbursed! Also to note, this was the first hotel of our trip to India so it was definitely here that we picked them up. If you are in any doubt as to what bedbug bites look like, I have attached three photos taken at the time.

Everything about Ginger House Museum is wonderful. The staff are amazing, the rooms are spectacular and they make you feel so welcome and at home.
