Reasonably good value for money

Positives
1. If one is looking for relatively closer stay to Mumbai when driving from Goa to Mumbai, Khed or Mahad are ideal locations on old highway of Goa to Mumbai (NH66)
2. And Motel Visava is quite ideal location as its just adjacent to NH66
3. Within the premises there is HP petrol pump that made my life convenient to fill diesel before leaving from Motel Visava
4. I stayed in Motel Visava standard Ac room that costed me 2390 for 3 persons all inclusive. The room was for 2 persons with 1 extra bed. Breakfast was not part of this deal.
5. Room was small yet just okay for 3 persons as we took very little luggage to the room. I was quite happy.
6. Very clean room, quite clean toilet, provided toiletries like toothbrushes, toothpaste, hot water kettle with tea coffee packets and 1 water bottle (all these complimentary). Also with wife router inside the room. These things included in the room well thoughtfully keeping in mind comfort for the travelling community
7. They have solar system for water that makes it available even in the night time.
8. Have quite sufficient car parking space with watchman guarding this supposedly
9. Have a restaurant at the base of the motel (with room service). Food was quite delicious (we had lunch, dinner, evening tea and breakfast too next day.
10. I would surely recommend to have a stay at Motel Visava, Mahad `
Negatives
1. Not sure what happens during rainy season or during days that had overcast almost whole day. No alternative hot water arrangement made (at least the receptionist told me over phone that)
2. Have quite sufficient car parking space with watchman guarding this supposedly , why “supposedly” as I noticed watchman was not present in some occasions around. This is dangerous as the parking place is besides the main road
3. Although have a self-serviced restaurant the room menu is at least 10% to 25% costlier than what you get in the restaurant. The quantity served at the motel is quite sumptuous. However, the cost of items at the restaurant are much higher….at least 80% to 100% to the roadside restaurants one would have on the way from Goa to Mumbai. Even those roadside restaurants service much delicious food quality with similar quantities with half the food costs compared to Motel Visava.
I could have given highest rating to this hotel ,,,the only reason for not doing so....they have reasonable room cost but it seems they want to have a business model to recover from food. Significantly high cost. I am from Mumbai and still saying this. And hence the title of my review is "Reasonably good value for money" (could have otherwise given best value for money which is not)

No sleep for the weary

Stayed in Motel Visava after a gap of 20+ years. Back then, the Motel had a sprawling lawn, beautiful garden and large open spaces. Now it is what the locals like to call "Higway Touch". Because it is literally in contact with NH17 Highway! Room No. 207 has no view to speak of. The windows are sliding with single walled glass. So, no noise isolation. Poor quality sleep due to constant vehicular traffic just outside the window. To be fair, the room was clean, if only a bit small. Seemed to have been sanitized.

No Proper Sanitisation of Tables and Chairs In restaurant, No SOP being followed during Covid-19 Pandemic

We are regular visitors to this hotel. It is a good hotel with good food . This time also we had good food and service was upto the mark But we are very much shocked to see that no proper sanitization protocol as per Govt. guidelines and WHO guidelines is being followed by the management. During Service, our service personnel was wearing mask but not all the staffs were wearing Masks. Not a single restaurant service staffs were wearing face shields, as well!!! No sanitization of tables and chairs was being undertaken after the guests finishe with food and leaves the table. We did not stay in hotels accommodation but I am quite sure that the Sanitization protocol might not have been followed at all by the hotel management for rooms also as per our experience during dining. Hotel Management should follow SOP laid down by the Govt. and WHO.

Slow degradation in facilities and service class

We have been regular guests at this beautifully decorated hotel since April2012 till date. Recently we went post diwali vacations during regular konkan tour to our native place at sindhudurga. It has come to my notice that they have removed Steward category from their restaurant section and all are now waiters only may be they have been demoted??? other thing which had come to my notice is that their Garam masala section air conditioning is not efficient enough for the large floor space index of restaurant although the rush in restaurant was very much limited that also during November month which is not at all a hot season. They must do something about this aspect. Rest food quality is good but it is not the consistent taste what they used to provide us.... Would check next time around when we visit again in days to come.Rooms are well maintained again they must improve their in room air conditoner units as well as 1 ton splits in standard ac. room are not sufficient especially when they do not have HVAC and/or VRF systems installed and existing ac units which are already may be old by more than 8 years may be.....

Good option to stay on the mumbai goa highway.

It's a good hotel..neat and clean.staff is co operative..Deluxe rooms are good. The best part is their restaurant Garam masala which serves very delicious veg and non veg food..Good option for one night halt.
