Historic place with beautiful rooms, lovely gardens, great service and delicious food customized to guest preferences.

Lovely , unique, rambling historical building with beautiful gardens, secluded but accessible to Mt Abu market area. Fully furnished in a historical style with antique furniture and paintings and photographs and artwork (since it was a former royal family summer retreat). Every room is different and has wonderful views. Food was great, provided by an on-site chef who paid attention to our dietary preferences. We were all vegetarian, and they provided breakfast and dinner as we asked. The gardener who has worked there for decades gave us a tour of the garden and told us so much about the design and plants and flowers.
Bathrooms are also old-style with ornate bathtubs and lighting, etc, but everything works.
Truly feels like staying in a historic home.

Unforgettable

We will never forget our stay in this place. Luxury, calm and voluptuous ... Our two suites were interconnecting, with views on the verandas to an extraordinary garden. We had access to an amazing lounge and enjoyed a dining room adjoining our rooms, where we could taste Rajasthan specialties. Many thanks for all your attention, smiles and quality of service. We will come back to stay at this property, but several nights, to enjoy this amazing place even more.

Rich heritage, sumptuous food, truly outstanding hospitality

Great place that we visited on Feb 13, 2026. Since we were short of time, we only had a lunch there and then explored the complex, the lounge, and the guest rooms, all rich in heritage. It was a time travel experience supported by truly outstanding hospitality.
The western style the lunch at the verandah of the country cottage style main building, with a view of 350 year old trees in the compound, was not only sumptuous but also atmospheric. Kudos to the manager Mr Jethu Singh, who personally came to greet us and stayed on to offer the best possible service. And, of the course, their chef too came to check if everything was in order. We were deeply impressed.
Post lunch, we walked around their Victorian lounge and guest rooms. The lounge reminded me of the Ye Olde Smokehouse, Cameron Highlands, Malaysia, and exuded the same elegance. The guest rooms, with period furnishing, were spacious, very well maintained and spotlessly clean.
I am afraid that places as relaxed, as rich in hospitality, as well maintained and as steeped in history as Connaught House may not last forever in the present jet-set era. So, while in Mount Abu, any aficionado of history, culture and nature must make it a point to visit Connaught House, dine there and also stay there. And, from my own experience, I am confident that the manager, Mr Jethu Singh, will walk ten extra miles to bring all comfort to his guests. Recommended without any reservation.

Old World Charm

Lovely property with an old world charm and a rustic feel.Rooms were large and spacious with a living area and two bathrooms. Large verandah to sit out. Staff is amazing and attentive. Breakfast included with a choice of Indian items as well as eggs to order. Had a lunch and dinner at the hotel. Well cooked homely food. Would definitely recommend this gem of a place.

Calm and greenery

Like home, small hotel not many rooms, comfortable and quiet located in a garden. Our room had a veranda to sit and relax. Wifi ok. Nice breakfast and affordable and family like restaurant. Within walking distance from the city commotion. The only "difficulty" is to get there.
