Tegallalang Rice Terrace and Aloha Ubud Swing are worth checking out if an activity is on the agenda, while those wishing to experience the area's natural beauty can explore Ubud Monkey Forest and Sangeh Monkey Forest. Spiritual Center Sinar Suci and Threads of Life Indonesian Textile Arts Center are also worth visiting. This resort features an outdoor pool, a restaurant, and free breakfast. Firefly Retreat offers 15 accommodations. Guests can surf the web using the complimentary wireless Internet access (speed: 25+ Mbps). Recreational amenities at the resort include an outdoor pool. In accordance with local regulations, all visitors must remain within the property during Seclusion Day (Nyepi)/Hindu New Year for a 24-hour period (starting at 6 AM). Seclusion Day typically falls in March or April (dates subject to change each year). Check-in and check-out will not be possible on that date. Ngurah Rai Airport (Bali International Airport) is also closed on Seclusion Day.

A special week at the yoga retreat

Enjoyed my time at the retreat after solo traveling for 2 months in Asia. There are 2 yoga classes per day (that are very accessible to people of all levels) + other traditional experiences during the week. The food is also amazing!
I also really appreciated the free time on friday so that I could explore Ubud on my own.
Thank you for everything :)

Excellent yoga retreat for a solo traveler

The best yoga retreat I have been to. I was amazed by the amount and quality of the activities included! Also the room was a pleasant surprise, even had my own fridge and outdoor shower. I loved that they have local yoga teachers teaching the classes!
The staff is so amazing and taking such a good care of everyone. I loved our group and how easy it was to meet like-minded people as a solo traveler. Honestly I could’ve stayed for another week!

Bed bugs.

The bed bug infestation made my skin itch all over and it was hard to sleep. I notified the manager but they did not respond.

An Experience of a Lifetime

I have been practising yoga for a few years now and this was my first retreat. I chose Firefly not only because of the exotic location and amazing online reviews, but also because of the value that it offered. The price included two daily yoga practices, comfortable and clean accommodations, an excursion, a massage (I purchased a few extras), three organic vegetarian meals per day, a cooking class, a chocolate making class, herbal tea makings and other activities. All to say that it did not disappoint! This was truly a cultural experience of a lifetime for me. Ariel is a warm and welcoming host, and his staff are second to none. They really took good care of me and I only have praise for each of them. I can honestly say that there was always something to do and when I wanted to just relax, the quiet pool by the rice fields was perfect for some much needed R&R. The other thing I appreciated was the fact that the retreat is tucked away amongst the rice fields and a jungle like setting, however you are close to town and can easily escape the serenity of the environment to visit cool restaurants, bars, shops that Ubud has to offer. You can even take in a trance and fire dance show. I had different yoga instructors throughout the week and they were all very experienced, knowledgeable and unique in their own way. My yoga practice has definitely evolved and improved since the retreat. Unforgettable is an understatement. I cannot wait to return and do it all over again. For me it was an experience of a lifetime, when time stood still for a moment. A true break from my busy western life. I loved it and I highly recommend it to all yogis and also for those looking to begin their yogic journey in a unique and effective way.

Magical place! 10/10

I couldn’t find the words to write a better review for this beautiful, peaceful, wonderful retreat. I had the privilege of staying here the past week and cannot thank the staff enough for their efforts, kindness and energy to make this retreat as special as it was. Ariel is the most interesting, funny and lovely guy who took great effort in getting to know us all during our stay. The food was exceptional - I’m a professional chef and it exceed all my expectations! The people on the retreat were beautiful souls and I thoroughly enjoyed getting to know everyone from different walks of life! Thank you so much firefly, my memories of the past week will stay with me forever :)
