An Authentic Balinese Experience That We Will Never Forget ★★★★★

Praety Home Stay belongs firmly in the second category.
After carefully researching dozens of properties in Ubud, we chose Praety Home Stay because of its consistently excellent reviews, traditional Balinese ambience, outstanding value, and glowing comments about the hosts. We arrived with high expectations. We left wondering whether Tripadvisor should introduce a sixth star.
The homestay is tucked away on Jl. Sukma Kesuma, in a quiet, leafy neighbourhood that somehow manages to be both peaceful and remarkably convenient. Ubud's Art Market, restaurants, cafés, temples and shops are only a pleasant 10–15-minute walk away, yet once you step through the entrance, the bustle of the town simply disappears. It truly feels like a hidden oasis.
If silence had a sound, this would be it.
The property beautifully reflects traditional Balinese architecture and family living. Lush greenery surrounds the rooms, creating an atmosphere that encourages you to slow down, breathe deeply and simply enjoy the moment.
Our room was impeccably clean throughout our stay. Housekeeping standards were exceptional. The bed was comfortable, the Wi-Fi reliable, the air-conditioning wonderfully efficient yet whisper quiet, and the bathroom—with its deep soaking tub—was perfect after long days exploring Ubud.
For the price, the value is extraordinary.
But the highlight of every day arrived each morning.
Breakfast at Praety Home Stay is not merely a meal; it is a delightful daily ritual.
We were a family of five, and every evening Praety would patiently discuss the following day's breakfast with us. Each person's preferences were remembered, accommodated and often improved upon with thoughtful suggestions. Watching the next morning's breakfast being planned almost became as enjoyable as eating it.
The homemade banana and coconut crepes deserve legendary status. Fresh tropical fruit salads, beautifully prepared local dishes, eggs cooked exactly as requested, fragrant Balinese coffee, and everything presented with care and elegance—it was evident that every breakfast was prepared with genuine affection.
The one ingredient that cannot appear on the menu, yet was present in abundance every morning, was love.
One of our favourite memories will forever be sitting on our private balcony sipping freshly brewed Balinese coffee while overlooking the lush garden. It was one of those wonderfully simple moments that become the highlights of a holiday.
What truly elevates this homestay, however, is Praety and her wonderful family.
Hospitality is often promised, but here it is genuinely lived.
From the moment we arrived, they welcomed us as though we were old family friends returning home. Praety helped us arrange transportation, suggested places to visit, assisted with planning our itinerary, recommended restaurants, answered countless questions with patience, and always greeted us with a warm smile. Every interaction reflected kindness, generosity and sincere care.
In today's world, where many hotels have perfected efficiency, Praety Home Stay reminds us that genuine hospitality is still deeply personal.
This is not simply a place to sleep.
It is a place where conversations are unhurried, breakfasts become cherished memories, mornings begin with birdsong instead of traffic, and guests leave feeling they have experienced the real Bali rather than merely visited it.

Had an amazing stay at Praety, the owners were incredibly welcoming and made my stay as enjoyable and easy as possible. The breakfast was so delicious and beautifully arranged. Look forward to staying at Praety again soon.

Beautiful and private location amongst lots of greenery right in Ubud. Clean rooms with air conditioning. Delicious breakfast. Staff were very kind.
