Thanks to this hostel we were able to complete the 3 most incredible excursions of our lives.
To start, they came to pick us up at our hotel and we went to the Tumpak Sewu waterfalls, we had a super attentive and admirable guide (I won't put his name at his request), who made the excursion very pleasant and was willing to help with everything.
The second day, we went to Mount Bromo, having already stayed at the hostel, where the service was exceptional from the first moment. There, Mul, our second guide, picked us up. Also attentive and offering us cultural knowledge at all times. The excursion was just us and it was also great.
On the third and final day, Mul put us in touch with our 3rd guide, Lili, who was going to take us to see the blue lava, the Ijen volcano, and the sunrise from the top. We were afraid of the supposed difficulty of the climb, but thanks to Lili it was much easier for us (we are in good physical shape, otherwise it would be more difficult). Lili was the best possible companion, showing us all the secrets and curiosities of the area, and always attentive to our needs.
In short, it was a great decision to use the hostel to enjoy Java and we recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy unforgettable experiences.

Very neat hostel, value for money is super! And the staff is very friendly!

The staff was very nice and welcoming. The food in the hostel is also very good! It was also possible to bring your breakfast or other dishes if you would be gone all day. We had a double private room, it was neat, clean and spacious! Fine for 3 nights:)
We also booked the 3-day tour from Shelter-hostel to Tumpak Sewu, Bromo and Ijen. The waterfall Tumpak Sewu, the sunrise at Bromo and the challenging climb of Ijen were all fantastic!! Everything was well arranged and our driver Herri took us everywhere quickly and neatly.

Clean, convenient, helpful for activities

Lovely hostel in a great location, very clean and great food (we just had breakfast but heard the other meals were good too). We also booked Bromo and Tumpak Sewu tours with them which were great and very convenient. Our guide in particular for Tumpak Sewu was the best!

Great rooms, great value & Staff who go above and beyond!

Amazing hostel, great value for money, staff who go above and beyond.
We stayed here for 2 nights. The room was clean, comfortable and quiet with AC. The middle floor was a social atmosphere with drinks/water and the usual amenities. The location is perfect to walk or grab/taxi around the city.
What truly amazed me though is the helpfulness of the staff! I left my earbuds/airpods at the hostel, and upon realising contacted them. They agreed to ship them to my next stay in Bali and I’m so grateful!
I’d absolutely reccomend this hostel!

Friendly hostel wirh helpful staff, not far from train station.

Cute little hostel walking distance to the train station and not too far from the central square. Friendly service and clean amenities.
