Relaxing perfect location

This hotel has the best location in balian. The pool looks over the surf.
The units are basic but have what you need. The staff are fantastic and always help with a smile.
Lost count of stays here but will be back

The Best Place .

I have stayed here for years and the experience just keeps getting better . goThe infinity pool looks straight over the main break . Nice . A new restaurant area has made the breakfast and eating much more comfortable . The staff are wonderful and efficient . Accomodation and food wise this is probably up there with the best in Balian .Gubug is also straight across the road from Decki's Warung the go to spot to check the break . The food is really good too .Serving until 9:00 pm ..

Epic Spot

Such an awesome spot. Short walk down to the waves. Epic pool looking at the ocean. The staff was very friendly and accomodating. Food was tasty and cheap. Don’t forgot to checkout the night market down the road.
Although the wifi in the rooms was subpar. Nothing else negative about this place. We would highly recommend it and would be stoked to go back again!

Gubug balian the best surf camp in balian.

Have stayed at gubug balian on several occasions now. Great basic surf camp style accomodations for keen surfers . Basic rooms, some equipped with mini bar fridge and a/c. A beautiful horizon pool overlooking the surf. A basic breakfast is a good option when booking your stay. A really good location as a keen surfer can monitor the conditions and has quick access to the surf.

Beautiful views and great location

Choose l from a simple single bungalow to a larger room with a balcony. We stayed in Room 1 next to reception. It had a newly installed air conditioner, small fridge and queen size bed, but no tv. We had both a pool and ocean view as Gubug is located on a hill. The rectangular pool is beautiful and has lounges with umbrellas. The breakfast was included and was very good with a choice of one cooked dish, one fruit dish and a drink. There is a bar and terrace for breakfast with ocean views. It is only few minutes walk down the hill to the surf beach, restaurants and massage. The staff are all lovely and efficient. Just be aware that there are some big steps up to each room and down to breakfast if you have mobility issues. Also note that the bathroom is basic- the shower is in the same space as the toilet. I would definitely come back here. Great value for money. Some guests were staying for 3 weeks.
