We had a lovely stay @ Launard house! Sharon & Adam provided exceptional service & hospitality. This was the 11th lodging stop for us (Scotland & Ireland) and the first to have a top sheet & washcloths, which we appreciated as Americans. Sometimes it’s the little things!😃 We walked into town for dinner with dozens of great dining choices. Breakfast was delicious and we wish we could have stayed longer.

Perfect spot to stay for site-seeing in Kilkenny. David our host was most gracious and he made a great breakfast.
Rooms were clean and tidy.
He even recommended a great pub down the street.
Would stay here again.

Good, not great; the bathrooms should be modernized.

Family-run B&B, rents out 6 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and reserves a part of the house for personal use.
It is a 40-minute walk from the center, or 5 minutes by car.
Bathroom is really cramped, with a very small sink. Unfortunately, the attic room was affected by the heat wave that also hit the British Isles: there was a Velux window overlooking the roof, screened by a Venetian blind, it got very hot in the afternoon, and we were only able to cool down the room in the middle of the night. I would recommend equipping these rooms with at least a fan.
Nice table and chairs in the garden; it was very pleasant in the shade even in the mid-afternoon.
Decent breakfast, with the preferred main dish requested in advance (savory Irish dish/ or blueberry pancakes/ or yogurt with fruit). In addition to hot drink, juice, butter, bread and jam.

Warm welcome and comfy bed.

We received a very warm welcome for the owner of the business. No sooner had we arrived he asked us for our breakfast needs for the following morning. As we were a bit tired we missed the bit about individual items for the breakfast. As in earlier B&Bs we had fruit and yoghurt as well as cereal and then a cooked breakfast. But in this one when we chose scrambled eggs and bacon and toast we had realised the eggs would be put in a mould when put on the plate for a designer look and one rasher of bacon and a round of toast. Though we could have a fruit juice and extra toast. It seemed a bit basic for my husband so the next day he ordered a full Irish which was much better. Though I will say the food was freshly cooked so it was good. We had a problem with our shower as the hose going into the lower shower head leaked quite a bit and was hanging off and the bar to move the head up and down was damaged. We reported it at breakfast time and the gent said he would fix during the day. When we returned late afternoon he told us he simply didn't have the time to do it as he was busy doing other things like booking people in. He asked if he could do it the next day AFTER we had left!! By then we thought just go with it as we were there 2 nights only. Also with the shower there was a very polite note asking customers to be sparing with the showers 5 mins max as the water was heated by Solar Power, which we fully understood, however, the shower nearly took that amount of time to get to a reasonable temperature to have a shower so as much as we wanted to keep it short it was difficult. On the whole it was a nice place to stay the bed was very comfy and the welcome was warm, but it would seem the gentleman was too busy even to come in and replace teabags and milk and even empty the bathroom bin, which was too small for general use and we ended up using a carrier bag as well.

Property and rooms were lovely. Dave was a fabulous host and cook. I would definitely recommend this property!
