Small original guesthouse directly at the harbor
Small guesthouse located right on the harbor. Everything is very rustic and nicely furnished. The house is older, everything creaks. But that's exactly what makes it so lovely.
Some rooms have a direct view of the harbor - very nice.
Rooms with a view of the mountain are OK. If possible, book one with a view of the harbor.
Wet rooms are clean and spacious.
The restaurant was unfortunately closed when I visited.

Exelent pizza
Exelent Pizza, exelent survice. Came here with friends to selebrate that one og us is getting married next saturday. Evrybody loved the food and survice exept the one icelandic women that did't like that we were loughing and having fun

Lovely place.
We stayed there 2 nights in crazy stormy weather in the middle of July. The house is old and whilst being there during a storm had a real charm to it, it felt like it was going to give to the weather at times. The rooms are small, but everything you need really. Clean, but will need some maintennce soon. Staff is super friendly, and the food, we only tried the pizza, was great. Tbh I would have like a little less, notice, less toppings. Since there was a storm we didnt really do much but bolungarvik has a good swimmingpool. It was a good place to be in a storm.

Under expectations
We had great expectations when we made reservations for 12 persons in Einarshús in Bolungarvík 8 months in advance. We booked all 6 rooms on the second floor and yet when we came to check in 4 of us got the 2 rooms in the cellar, beneath street level. The cellar rooms did not at all have the standards we expected and the toilet and bathroom in the cellar were disgusting, to say the least. This is an old house with history but what I saw of it, the cellar and the dining room are not well maintained. The food was poorly served with no elegance and did not even taste good. The potatoes had the tase of being warmed up and the lamb was tough. The fish tasted better but was nothing for the eye.

Great Stay!
Group of three of us were the only guests in the hotel. Our room was a good size and the bathroom was large and very nice. Wifi was excellent. Didn't do anything in town so location was fine with plenty of parking.
We only stayed one night and for dinner the owner Benedict cooked us lemon fish. It was similarly pricey to other places, but he brought out a huge skillet for us all to share. I hadn't had that much food for almost two weeks! He had tried to get us to order the fish gills, but though we declined he brought some out for us to try. I asked how much his Einstok beers were, especially one that was much stronger (and more expensive) and he replied for me they were all the same price. 9% gets you when you survive off of gas station hot dogs.
He gave us the background on the house, which we didn't realize would be a description of how anyone the original owner every loved had died, and included Ben producing the tiny shoe of the owner's son who died of TB. He said they found the shoe in the wall during some construction, and offered up his own interpretation of what that might mean. One of Benedict's mates was staying there while in town from Reykjavik, so after everything was locked up and turned off it was just the four of us in the house.
Ben's daughter walked over to grab some breakfast in the morning and when my friends commented that his Facebook page lists 'nightly live music', and that we had not in fact heard any live music the night previous, he promptly brought out his guitar and had his daughter sing "Hallelujah" by the recently (at that time) deceased Leonard Cohen. Her beautiful voice made it a heavy moment as our group of three sat alone, in the dining room, eating toast at not yet 9:00 am.
When we left I had to turn the car around because we realized we had miscounted on our beer report settling the bill. He as surprised to see us back, and said we probably should have just kept going!
In all an extremely memorable and intimate experience with Benedict. We felt like we were staying with a friend who was taking really good care of us.
