Great holiday among beautiful horses
We spent one week at the farm and it was amazing time. Relaxing and quite holiday in nature with beautiful horses around. The appartement we stayed in was very comfortable with fully equipped kitchen as we prepared dinner by ourselves. Breakfast was served in the show house, amazing wooden building overooking the riding track. One of big advantages here is, that the farm is situated in the north of Iceland, in the part, which is not so crowded with tourists so can enjoy the real Icelandic lifestyle and admire the beauty of the nature strolling around and meeting just birds or sheep. How relaxing! On the other hand there is plenty of great and popular places for a one day trip, such as Drangey Island with puffins, Holar, Akureyiri, Godafoss waterfall, Hofsos etc. So if you want enjoy real Island and not just run around eating kilometers this is the right place!

Shameless and greedy owner
This place seems nice and innocent at first glance but me and my family were cheated out of our stay and got no refund. When we showed up for our stay someone else had occupied the room (some misunderstanding I believe) and eventually, to not cause more trouble, we gave in and drove home since we had a place to stay in the city, being Icelandic, and arrived in the middle of the night.
After this, we contacted the owner of the place (who had not been present) who seemed nice at first. However, as we tried to issue a refund she denied such a thing. Now, close to two months later, she has still not given a refund. Not only this, but she seems to overwork her staff and give them unclear conditions.
In short: we arrive, someone is in our room. We eventually don't end up staying, contact owner for a refund but she refuses. That sounds like a scam if there ever was one.
So, if you happen to get an unoccupied room you can probably expect a decent stay. But if something goes wrong, here is a warning!

This property only takes cash so be aware
We chose this accommodation as we were traveling the ring road and were coming in late from Dalvik and we needed a good stop between there and Reykjavik. Our reservations were made months before our trip and finalized via booking.com and the owner. During our trip, the owner's daughter emailed me (via booking.com) asking if we wanted to upgrade our room because she had a vacancy. The "upgrade" was to two rooms with a shared bath with a third room. We had first booked her separate house because it had a private bathroom for our family of 4 which was our priority. I told her we wanted the private facilities and not take the "upgrade". Her response was that she "would give us the lodging with the most private facility." These emails had to take place over a number of days because of our being off of wi-fi at times and the fact that all correspondence was going through booking.com. When we arrived at 10:30pm (this had been arranged prior with her) she told me that we would have shared facilities because she had a leak in the house we were supposed to stay in.The rooms were nice and roomy and very clean but we were sharing one bathroom with 7 people. When she asked me to pay, I handed her my credit card THEN she told me they only take cash. She told me I could ride with her mother in the morning to town and get cash and pay her at the bank. Because I bank with nationwide bank, transferring money is so easy so we tried it that way and it worked...thankfully...because we had plans to leave early the next morning to continue our trip.
Understand, I am not upset that they only take cash. I am fine with that but I did not know! Nowhere was that indicated on booking.com. nor did the owners let me know We had traveled the entire ring road so we were getting at the end of our trip. We had, earlier in the day, used our last 10000 KR because we were trying to spend the cash we had left over. I would gladly have saved the cash had I known.
Also, we were at her mercy and would have had to stay with the shared facilities because we were so late arriving, however, I didn't like that she was not truthful with me about the reasons for changing our room and I am still unsure really why she did. Nor did I like the response about giving us the "most private facility". I would have liked her honesty as I was going to stay there regardless. It is a nice clean lodging in a beautiful area but unfortunately because of my experience I would look for a different place next time and would encourage others to as well.
Also, the rooms we ended up with were attached to the owners house just separated by a hallway. You have your own (shared) bath and kitchen area but you are in their house if that doesn't appeal to you.
