Experience to be redone

Everything perfect from the structure to the rooms to the cleaning to the staff perfect table service the owners very kind absolutely great food and excellent qualità.Struttura practically on the lake in the true sense of the word and all rooms have spectacular views. It deserves a 10 and praise. Thank you.

Birthday trip.

Nice, cozy, quiet hotel directly by the lake. Service and owners were very nice and even helped carry luggage. We praise the cuisine, which was very varied and authentically Italian, unfortunately, potatoes were served as a side dish daily, which was a bit dull. The cocktails and drinks prepared in the evening are worth highlighting. Unfortunately, there was no little extra for the birthday, but that is not a big deal. The bathrooms, cutlery, and dishes are in need of renovation. Unfortunately, the indoor pool was cold and a bit carelessly designed. On the outdoor terrace, one can have breakfast and dinner outside in good weather; unfortunately, there was a screeching, uncomfortable music that annoyed not only us. We would gladly return for this wonderful view!

Not quite as good as it got.

Now I was with my wife for the third time at the Hotel Santa Maria in Brenzone.
Already in January I had the room No. XY requested in May 2025. I was given the price and just wanted to make sure again that it is also room XY. This was confirmed with and I should click on a link. However, I had not found one and after it had already worked out great 2 times without a link, I only asked for confirmation. This one didn't come, but unfortunately I hadn't registered it.
So we arrived cheerfully and were very surprised when an elderly gentleman at the reception asked us when we had booked, there was no booking because I had not pressed the link. Our room was taken, but another room would still be available. We then reluctantly took this one.
There it turned out that the flushing in the toilet did not work. After a drive of 750 km very uncomfortable.
The elderly gentleman took care of it, unfortunately this was a new system unknown to him. His son would come by in about two hours. After about 3 hours there was dinner and then he repaired the conditioner.
The plastic part 30 x 5 cm could be pushed in with some force, which produced a very loud noise, but at least operated the rinse.
After three days our desired room became available and it would have been a nice gesture to offer us this, especially since it was not only my fault that the booking was missed.
Then the shower water became only lukewarm and the next day no more warm water arrived. Craftsmen moved in, working the foundation with heavy equipment, drilling and also working in a neighbouring room.
No information came from the hotel management. The number of hotel guests decreased rapidly.
After three days, hot water arrived again, unannounced. Sure, this is very uncomfortable for the hotel management, but not a word was said about the whole malheur and there was no compensation or reparation!
Unfortunately, the vegetables were always cooked too soft in the evening. You would also expect a pizza in Italy.
So far we have been very happy with this hotel and are now a bit disappointed!

RUDENESS TO THE PURE STATE

I passed with friends at the bar of this hotel for an aperitif and I have never been treated so badly. The lady at the bar immediately saw that she was rude, almost annoyed even before serving us. We ordered two Hugo aperitifs that the lady refused to do because she said the mint was missing even though we pointed out that she had it in front of her eyes on the bar counter and, at that point, the lady claimed that that was for the customers of the Hotel. There were three of us I don't think he would have used that much!! We then asked for a coffee with a scoop of cream ice cream but even that did not want to bring us claiming that they do not put cream but vanilla, they do not care how we want it, they do it only with vanilla ice cream!
Around 6pm she started preparing tables for customers' dinners and while we were drinking our cocktail she threw the tablecloth on our table next to our glasses in a bad way and then told us that we had to move that she had to do ..
Considering the way we did we told the lady that we finished drinking our cocktail but the lady gave us ''IDIOTS'' and then continue with a whole series of unjustified provocations by a waitress who has the task not to unnerve the customer but to please him and make him feel good .. Altro che relax !! When people don't know how to connect with the public better than to change jobs. Highly discouraged to those who want to enjoy a bit of tranquility... Da denuncia ...

Big disappointment

There are hotels where you immediately feel at home, hotels that retain their historic charm and pleasantly familiar atmosphere. Unfortunately, the Santa Maria hotel is not among these. The view of the lake is great, but it is also the only argument in favor of this hotel. Behind the facade lies a very obsolete structure: no lift (despite the fact that it is usually a basic requirement for 3-star hotels with 2 floors), an old and musty smell in the corridors and the total absence of signs towards the emergency exit . Things don't improve once you receive the keys to the room: bad smell, old-fashioned furniture, very dim lights, dilapidated ceiling lights full of dead insects, lamps covered in suspicious stains, dirty linen, toilet pipes that spray water with every flush and shutters that get stuck. But the most disappointing part of our stay was the total lack of friendliness and hospitality from the owners. In fact, from the first moment we did not feel welcome with our dog. The structure allows animals, but in practice offers nothing for four-legged friends: no bowl with water during meals, nor access for animals to the dining area, which is very normal in other hotels and restaurants. We were invited to have breakfast outside in the wind and rain in a not very sheltered corner. On the other hand, however, he puts €10 per night in his pocket for the dog without offering absolutely any service. The blast from the past that the hotel offers (not a pleasant one though) finds its full realization in the closing times: between 11pm and 7.10am the hotel is locked; the only access point is an emergency exit on the first floor reachable via a staircase and a slalom between unidentified objects. We won't be returning.
