Wonderful Apartment by Lake Como!
My daughter and I recently stayed at Villa Maggie for 3 nights. We originally booked the 'Chocolat' small 2 bedroom/bathroom apartment. On arrival Paola surprised us with a complimentary upgrade to the large 2 bedroom apartment that has its own private swimming pool. This apartment was gorgeous! Spacious, very clean and so comfortable. We had 3 awesome nights there. It is just minutes from the lake and there are numerous restaurants within a few minutes walk. Paola was a pleasure to communicate with and always promptly responded to my questions about the property and area. The bus stop to Bellagio is in front of the apartment so we were able to visit Bellagio and also take the ferry to Varenna for a day trip. You are also walking distance to Lecco. We loved our time here and hope one day we'll be lucky enough to visit again!

Couples holiday
We were two couples staying in the apartment with the pool . Both bedrooms were large and well decorated. Lovely large bathroom and open plan kitchen /living room - again beautifully decorated and spacious. The pool area is immaculate and a real bonus as we were staying for a week and it provided a private place to relax .
The location of the apartment is fantastic , minutes from the lake and excellent local restaurants.
Paola and Larry were so helpful with immediate responses to anything we needed .
Highly recommend .

Not as described – disappointing experience with apartment Cioccolato
Unfortunately, we did not stay at *Cioccolato* apartment in Villa Maggie, even though we had booked it directly via the official website for a stay in July 2025. At the time of booking, the apartment was clearly described as having a kitchenette and a lake view — both important features for us. Upon arrival, however, it turned out that the apartment consisted of just two bedrooms and a bathroom, with no kitchen, no living area, and no view whatsoever.
We immediately informed the owner, Paola, and decided not to stay. We were forced to look for alternative accommodation, which resulted in lost time, additional costs, and a disappointing start to our holiday.
Although we received a partial refund of €345, the remaining amount was never reimbursed despite repeated and polite requests. Paola refuses to take further responsibility and claims that the website was correct — even though we have screenshots showing the inaccurate listing at the time of booking.
We are sharing this review to help inform future guests. The property itself may be appealing, but transparency and honest communication are essential. We recommend double-checking which amenities are actually included before confirming a booking.

Birthday Surprise
What a lovely surprise for my birthday. We were recommended to visit by Adele from Frontelago. Lovely old couple served us several courses on the balcony. Our Italian and their English made it very interesting. No menu you just got one course after another. Would definitely recommend a visit

Excellent in Malgrate!
We stayed in Margate for a week with a family at Villa Maggie. Apartments are really fresh and well equipped. Paola and her team were really friendly, helpful.
There is just one apartment with a pool because there is separate entrance even.
In the same block of buildings there is pizzeria, bakery and small grocery. Eurospin supermarket is not very far (15 minutes walk), public parking is 5 minutes walk, beach is also close.
Views from the Malgrate beach cafes were really enjoyable (we liked it more then Lecco views).
Lecco with its gelateries, shops and nice small city center was also good.
We preferred to travel to Abbadia for the beach - it is 15 minutes drive, but was very peaceful during weekdays (parking is terrible for weekend though).
