Breakfast was a buffet with a good selection of cold foods, coffee, tea etc. The room was very spacious with a fridge and TV. There was no safe available in the room. The bathroom had both a bath and excellent shower. One thing we didn't like was a window shutter out of reach on a string to open and close. However it didn't close properly so the sunlight came into the room very early. When you are not a great sleeper anyway this was disappointing. There is a bar in the hotel which closed early but a member of staff got some drinks for us when requested

What a wonderful place!

A wonderful hotel with enormous value for money, in the best location in town, fabulous view, good atmosphere and friendly staff.
If there’s anything that could be improved, it would be that the breakfast staff would not make such incredible amounts of noise banging cups and talking to each other loudly in that open kitchen without any break while the guest are trying to have breakfast in the same room - the breakfast spread by the way is absolutely divine!

Matera

4 out of 5, especially for the kindness and professionalism of the staff, a special mention above all to the girl in the breakfast room, very good; for the rest, small rooms, essential furnishings, small bathroom, the hotel is right in the Sassi in a restricted traffic zone, not reachable by car, so with large luggage it becomes tiring to reach it considering that there are also some large steps to climb.

Great location - highly recommended!

A really nice little hotel in an amazing location right in the heart of the Sassi Barisano. The room was very clean, comfortable and well looked after. The buffet breakfast was also very good, with plenty of choice. If you can, book a room with a balcony overlooking the Sassi, the view is absolutely worth it.

Disappointment at the Sassi

A €75 surcharge for a junior suite was imposed by the Sassi hotel two months ago on the grounds that there were no standard rooms available for booking, and in the end, I find myself in a standard room of 10m2 with 2 tiny annexes... I protest, and I am met with great displeasure. Upon my arrival, the receptionist could not find the reservation and pulled a key from behind the counter to accommodate me... Not serious or correct. The beautiful view is of a construction crane. Mediocre breakfast, lacking originality and with unappetizing products. I really do not recommend this place; here, the customer is not king (especially the female customer!).
