Unexpected delight!
We missed the last train to Cagliari due to a delayed bus and needed to book somewhere in a hurry for 1 night. Normally I would research hotels carefully, but we were in a bit of quandary, so I picked Hotel Panorama off my Google search. What an unexpected gem!
We arrived at check-in 10 minutes after booking, after a taxi trip from the station, but if we had known how close it was to the station, we would have walked, like we did the next day after check-out. It is an easy walk on wide pavements. Please note that the taxi is not allowed to drop you right outside, so you walk a hundred metres or so on some cobblestones. The check-in staff were very friendly, and we had even been upgraded to a room on the 5th floor as we had made a last-minute booking.
The room was very spacious with a lovely view and magnificent bathroom. Even though some of the furnishings were dated, it actually suited the hotel and its setting in the pedestrian area of Olbia. Everything was clean and the wi-fi was very good. We went up to their top floor roof garden just around sunset, and the 360 degree views of the entire town of Olbia were outstanding.
Olbia's pedestrian zone was also an unexpected gem. So many quaint restaurants to choose from and such lovely settings in the narrow maze of roads which came alive after 8pm. We only wish now that we had more time in Olbia.
We had an early breakfast the next morning as we had to catch the train to Cagliari. There was more than enough to choose from at the continental buffet and everything tasted good.
Check-out was easy and we received the €100 security deposit back which we had paid in cash the night before.
I can highly recommend this hotel, and also the old part of Olbia.

Weak
Weak attention. They charged 20 euros at check-in and were rude. The private room was dirty. Weak breakfast. Definitely not a 4-star hotel

Solid city hotel in a central location
Clean city hotel in a good location. Our room was sufficiently large, the furniture was getting on in years. Bathroom with shower large and appealing. The roof terrace invites you to linger in the evening; no idea if sun protection is provided during the day. Overall, we can recommend the establishment; we would wish for the ladies at the reception and in service to be a bit more obliging.

Clean room, great location. My issue was the staff was not very helpful or kind to say the least. Meaning the front desk. The other issue was the AC, you don’t control the temperature- it is all controlled by the hotel. It doesn’t matter what you set it for, they control it. We were on the top floor, it was always hot.

Great location, poor service
The hotel is very well located
The amenities are old school compared to the prices (we paid 575 EUR for 3 nights plus breakfast), even the rooftop is overrated.
Last morning we went at the beach after checking out, the showers at the beach were under renovation, so I ask the front desk if we could had a quick shower just before flying back.
The lady requested us to pay 15 EUR per person, for a quick shower they have in the basement... We had several drinks during our stay, we paid 575 EUR and again, we were being ask to pay... I know it is a business but 30 EUR for this is unacceptable.
I tried to negotiate but the lady did not want to make an effort, pretexting the work of cleaning the shower... come on
I refused obviously, since it should be a default service to an hotel guest.
Constantly being treated like a cash machine is exhausting.
