Fabulous camp site with all amenities as described including kids entertainment, restaurants, the cabin was very well equipped and pools were excellent- Fabulous was fabulous! Thank you for a lovely stay 10/10

Fine campsite for visiting Rome but not for a holiday!

We visited the campsite 4 days in the 3rd week of May. Friendly welcome, the campsite gives a tidy impression. The toilet block is not new but clean. The pitches on sand are spacious and we paid € 57.50 per day for 2 people. Not exactly cheap for spring. With a ratio of more than 1300 chalets and a small 80 pitches, it is more of a holiday park than a campsite. For € 3.00 return by bus and metro you are within 45 minutes in the center of Rome. Nice swimming pools. There is a shop, snack bar, restaurant and square with food trucks. The prices are generally higher than outside the campsite. In the evening there is simple entertainment until 23:00, however a singer with guitar accompaniment and a mister camping pageant and drinks from plastic cups are not spent on us. The reception is open 24/7 and guests can check in and out day and night. As a result, there is a lot of clatter of roller cases on the pavement day and night. Add to that the fact that cars are allowed in and out until 24:00 and from 06:00 and employees drive around in carts at great speed, and you understand that little comes of sleeping. There is nothing wrong with the park but its own rules cause a lot of inconvenience.

Disappointing accommodation experience despite good location

We chose HU Fabulous Village knowing it wasn’t going to be luxury accommodation, but we expected something comfortable and functional for our family holiday while being able to get out into Rome sight seeing.
We booked the Roan Premium 3 bedroom accommodation for six people and found it far too small. There was very little storage space, meaning there was nowhere sensible to put clothes, suitcases or personal belongings. It felt cramped from the moment we arrived. In fact, it was so impractical for four adults and 2 children that we ended up booking an additional unit through HU Easy XL accommodation for the grandparents.
Unfortunately, the HU accommodation quality was also disappointing. The first unit we were allocated had an air conditioning unit that was dropping ice and had an unpleasant smell, so we had to be moved.
The replacement accommodation wasn’t much better. The bathroom window would not close properly, creating both a security issue and an opportunity for insects to enter. Despite reporting it immediately, maintenance did not attend on the first night. The window was eventually repaired on day two, but it shouldn’t have been handed over to guests in that condition.
The additional accommodation booked for the grandparents was noticeably older and tired, with signs of wear and age throughout.
A few basic checks before guests arrive would have prevented most of the issues we experienced.
Overall, if you’re considering the Easy XL accommodation beware it’s old! And if you’re considering a Premium a Roan for six people, be aware that space is extremely limited.

Fantastic place, the pools are brilliant - never had a problem getting a sunbed.
Stayed in a Stay Smart which was fine for 2a 1c but would have been cramped for more I recon. Needs more storage space for clothes.
Kitchenette was ok had most things you need.
Market was well stocked
Restaurant on site wasn’t the best and the food trucks were hit and miss but the pizza and chicken were lovely.
The pool bars were good and the cafe with the ice cream was fab
Lots of positives. Would advice to book a bigger caravan then you think you might need for the extra space

Great kids pool, facilities, shower rooms, activities for children are all day and free, plus kids club.
Entertainment all night, music, small fair rides, supermarket, restaurants etc...
Great for families and you can bring your pet.
Only issue we had was we arrived late and the Aircon wasn't working. So we needed to chase down the maintance worker as they weren't coming to fix the problem until 3am. But other than that it's brilliant.
