Return to rediscover
I've been here for a week at the B&B la Casa dei Nonni in Scario, and another is waiting for me. I went back five years after the last time, 2019, with the expectation of finding the same hospitality I had enjoyed then and the same suggestions of this lovely place inside the Gulf of Policastro.
Almost everything has remained as I remembered it, but inevitably over the course of these five years there have been events that have heavily marked almost everyone, a Pandemic and, in this specific case, also the disappearance of two extremely important people in this family. Nicoletta's father and brother, the real added value of this B&B.
Despite the loss “Nico” managed to take on the problems and continue the activity with the same enthusiasm and the same welcoming capacity that those who have already been there have known well.
The view from the terrace of the accommodation upstairs, where my wife and I stay, is and remains priceless. Even more so when evening falls, with the lights appearing to define the various countries overlooking the Gulf; Policastro, Sapri, Maratea, Praia a Mare ..
Nicoletta works tirelessly to meet the needs of the various patrons who alternate with the help of her sister-in-law Marilena and some friends, but always with the calm and attention of the people of the South who always know how to find solutions to the most particular requests and knows how to give the right advice.
In conclusion, a place to return and know that you can always count on unique hospitality and conviviality, and where various cultures even different from each other find space, being able to count on the simplicity and humanity of relationships, even in this small but unique B & B.

Enjoying life above the Golfo di Policastro
Casa dei Nonni is a beautifully situated house 1.5 km above the fisher town Scario and a perfect place to stay and explore the Southern part of the Cilento and the Golfo di Policastro.
We chose the upper appartment with a roof terrace with a gorgeous view on the Golfo di Policastro. The appartment is very well and tastefully equipped with a kitchen in the appartment and an additional fully equipped one outside in the garden.
The large garden is terraced and a good place to relax.
Internet is not yet available in the appartments but free wifi in the hosts house nearby.
Nicoletta and her brother Giuseppe are very good and helpful hosts. Nicoletta owns a small boat and invited us to a boat trip to the fabulous small beaches and grottos along the coast towards Marina de Camerota that you can't reach otherwise.
Beside swimming in the pure water we made beautiful hikings (e.g. on the Monte Bulgheria) and also trips along the Golfo, e.g. to Maratea from where you experience the most beautiful sunset, or more into national parc e.g. to the Bussento Grottos.
The lungomare of Scario is a nice place for the evening passegiato and you find good bars, restaurants and pizzerias. And, at least in September and October, it was not tourist overloaded.

La vera magia del Cilento
Otto giorni per poter vivere il Cilento a 360 gradi, Nicoletta con la sua immensa disponibilità ci ha accolto come amici e si è resa disponibile sia a darci preziose informazioni sul territorio che a viziarci con le sue super colazioni . Appartamento su due piani con vista mare bellissima, ampio, pulito, con proprio angolo cottura anche se c è la possibilità di usare anche la cucina comune sotto il portico. Una sera Nicoletta si è offerta di cucinare per tutti per farci assaggiare delle specialità cilentane e le sue alici e melanzane non le dimenticheremo.

Da non perdere
Blissimo appartamento ricco di tante belle cose. Cura nei particolari. Pasquale e gentile e disponibile, ci ha presentato tante buone cose da mangiare. Ci siamo sentiti meglio che a casa. Alexa ci ha fatto compagnia. Centralissimo a pochi passi dai sassi.

Vacanza indimenticabile!
abbiamo passato 18 giorni stupendi in questo B&b. Il panorama sul Golfo di Policastro. La pulizia dell'appartamento che avevamo al 1° piano. La simpatia di Nicoletta, Peppino e Marilena. Ci siamo sentiti in famiglia. Al mattino per noi colazione salata con i gustosissimi paninetti di Nicoletta, Peppino ci ingolosiva col suo miele e olio di sua produzione. Marilena ci sistemava casa a ns. discrezione. Alla sera si sono organizzate delle cene fra tutti gli ospiti, è facile socializzare in un ambiente così accogliente. Per chi è più giovane c'è una bellisima casetta sull'albero ove si può soggiornare con bagno riservato al piano terra, una vera chicca. Che dire grazie a tutti e un caro saluto da Angelo e Rossana
