Accommodation for 2 nights for a group of friends.
We stayed at this hotel, 5 friends in 3 different rooms, located on the 1st and 2nd floor, we booked accommodation with half board, which allowed us to have breakfast, go out all day, and return without having to go out for dinner, just go down to the dining room... the hotel has a small place to park, a pleasant garden, a cafeteria, and a reception with staff who provide excellent service and in 5 languages... a terraced solarium and a spectacular pool with a wonderful night view, they allowed us to leave our suitcases until the time of departure. 10' by car from the station... I highly recommend it!

A bit old hotel
Hotel in an excellent position with respect to the sea. Lacking parking, bathroom in the room without windows and without an air vent, no refrigerator in the room, modest breakfast

Horror movie
Worst experience in a hôtel ever.... The room was dirty, smoke stain on the bed. When we arrived in summer the heating was on and the nightshift manager seems very annoyed when we asked him to stop it. The wall litterally collapsed on us and the hotel staff didnt even asked us if we were alright. Worst they say it was our fault... The breakfast was awful and very cheap, the swimming pool dirty. Please save your money do not go to this hotel instead if you want to film an Hitchcock movie

Ipanema Hotel Taormina Sicily
September 10th-17th 2025.
The Ipanema Hotel Taormina, Sicily is a traditional Sicilian Hotel with wood panelling. The rooms are spacious with wardrobe space, dressing table, mirrors, comfy beds. There are plug sockets and lights next to the bed. The bathroom is small but all modern plumbing and good lighting. All rooms have a balcony which has a sea view and the sun all day. They also have air con, a tv and a safe. The doors are locked with a real key.
The rooms are cleaned daily with fresh bedding and towels. It has a bar and lots of comfy seating.
The pool is rooftop and private (no other hotels look onto it) a sun terrace with lots of sun beds, changing room and toilet.
The staff are welcoming and friendly.
The hotel is situated just a few minutes walk from the village restaurants, pharmacy and mini market. (You can get freshly made sandwiches and essentials here). Also a few minutes walk there is the cable car to main Taormina town, (€10 return ticket) car rentals (€80 per day) and boat trips. It is also on a bus route. There are no paths on the small road and it is quite hilly but this adds to the traditional feel of being in Sicily.
The beautiful Isola Bella is within walking distance with other beaches. Although these are busy pebbled beaches it is great for snorkelling.
The views from all of Taormina are beautiful. You can also walk up the many steps to main Taormina town where there are gardens, markets and historical sites.
We had an amazing holiday in a beautiful place and were totally satisfied with the lovely Ipanema Hotel.

Probably more like 3 star but still lovely
Hotel staff were lovely, and location was great. I had a double room with partial sea view, I'd say the view was more than partial, it was gorgeous and definitely the highlight of the room/stay. Looking at the pictures of the room, I assumed it would be a double as opposed to two singles and you couldnt move the two beds together. I wouldnt say this hotel is 4 star, the room massively lacks amenities. There isn't a fridge in the room as advertised. No kettle to make a drink and breakfast starts at 7 so if you want a coffee earlier you can't (my worst nightmare personally as I need coffee when I wake up!) The hairdryer doesnt have any power to it... there is body wash but no shampoo/conditioner. I only had breakfast here so can't comment on any other meals but it was good enough to get me going for the day. I didnt spend much time in the room or hotel really, and when I did, I sat on the balcony in my room or slept. Didn't feel too safe leaving my key exposed at reception everytime I went out either. If you're happy with a 3 star then I would recommend this place but if you are actually wanting a 4 star, probably not the best shout... holiday was amazing though so no regrets!! ☺️
