Hotel Fossati

Dated Motorsport Mecca with Charming Hospitality
There is no denying that Hotel Fossati is dated and lost in time, the furniture and styling straight out of the 70’s. Walls are too thin, and as mentioned by a previous reviewer, there was an unappealing cooking smell permeating the ground floor area when we arrived (it did dissipate). Nevertheless…..we had a really good stay and departed feeling great affection for the place. Much of that is thanks to the wonderful owner and his adorable team of friendly staff. Such lovely people. We also rather liked our superior room. Whilst old fashioned, it was of generous proportion and awash with light. The hotel has a quirky cylindrical shape, which I assume means all rooms benefit from the same large windows. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked well, Wi-Fi was excellent and there are ample electrical points. Bring your own shampoo though, the provision of bath products is stingy and low quality.
The hotel has an outdoor pool and plenty of parking. Breakfast was a decent cold spread, with the generous bonus of a serve yourself fresh orange juice machine. The Fossati is a Mecca for motorsport fans, with photos of various drivers, past and present, adorning the walls and elevator. Monza circuit is around 10 minutes drive away. There are 3 restaurants within a 5 minute walk (Fossati, Bacara and Antigua) and 2 slightly further (Enosteria Lipen and Galera Chalet Eno). The latter is particularly upscale and charming. The town has a train station (Macherio Canonica) around 10 minutes walk, and you can reach Milan (Porta Garibaldi) within 35 minutes.
If in the area again, we’d happily return to Hotel Fossati.

Fantastic Fossati
With the warm family style welcome and all the motor racing memorabilia we believe the Hotel Fossati to be unique in the best possible way. We were there for the GP weekend and the family gave us a bespoke shuttle service to and from the circuit at times of our choice. That was absolutely priceless. The warmth of the welcome and can-do approach to everything is the best we have ever experienced. We would happily recommend family and friends to stay there and if travelling in Northern Italy, we would be prepared to make significant detours just to stay there again.

Charm of the '70
We slept here one night as we had a customer appointment the next morning nearby. Located on a hill, the staff can speak Italian, English and German, and also very competent. The room seemed like a journey through time to the 70s, but for one night quite OK. Breakfast is very rich by Italian standards.

Mythical....
Looking for a hotel in Monza in 2022 as a stopover, we and our family chose Fossati by chance and booked
As soon as we entered the lobby, we were struck by lightning, mystified by the charisma and soul of this hotel
It was not a simple hotel that we had chosen, but a mythical, historical place, a museum, a sacred place...
We would not simply want to sleep but would receive the privilege and honor of entering and staying in these places
The welcome and service are of the same level, from a time when competence, passion and class were the priorities
The size of the room is much higher than Italian standards. Exceptional sleep quality!
And what about the breakfast orchestrated with class and discretion by the owners. Coffee, cappuccino, fresh fruit juices and all quality ingredients. Once again above Italian standards

This place is divine, time stands still and all you want is to stay there and stay...
In 2023, two visits (alone for work). In 2024, after 5 months, already two stays (solo, for work) impatiently waiting for the third stay
Furthermore, in the surrounding area, within walking distance, you will find a multitude of restaurants, trattorias, pizzerias, lounges & cocktail bars, numerous venues for all tastes and desires
Long live this magical place. From the bottom of my heart, a huge thank you to the Fossati family for the happiness they give us during every visit
I only hope for one thing: the next stay as soon as possible!!

Hotel that has seen better days, now obsolete, should be completely reformed.
But the most negative thing was a strong and unpleasant smell of cooking (refectory style) that hovered on the ground floor and first floor, where I had the room. I couldn't even stop for breakfast.
