Beautiful and magical place

Absolutely charming! Idyllic and peaceful as soon as you step through that wonderful arched front door. The staff are the loveliest team. It is so unspoilt even in peak holiday season. So many Italians come to holiday here which tells you everything. If you like vintage, rustic, imperfectly perfect style full of character, you will love it. The pool is surrounded by orange trees it’s generally so quiet and very special. And the gardens are magical and so well kept and cleaned. Breakfasts were very nice too. Mauro the owner is fantastic and a huge thank you Francesca, Elizabetta, Rosa and team and all the staff. So welcoming and genuine. The people everywhere in this region we found particularly warm and helpful and everyone chats to you in the village. It’s lovely.
TIPS :
• Definitely need a car to explore.
• Also to note in August when we were there everything is closed between 1-5pm so lunch is tricky and just needs a bit of planning if with kids. Hotel has apartments and rooms - we found the apartments cooler and have the option to use a fridge and washing machine really helpful.
• Conad supermarket 8 mins away in Poggiardo is open lunchtimes and has really good takeaway hot food counters for lunch
• Watch out for ZTL fines in nearby towns if enter central areas by car easy to clock up several fines a day. If planning a trip best to park away from centre and walk.
• In a previous review someone here suggested requesting a mattress topper from the hotel - really helpful tip!
• Bring proper water shoes for non-sandy beaches - essential
• Be prepared, August heat is tough have to accept need to slow down especially in day and mostly be in pool or by sea and go out at night
• Air conditioning was not great but better in apartments.
• We did the pasta making with Rosa and it was great fun.

Apulian oasis

The palazzo is a true oasis. Nice pool, a bit too small with sometimes too few lounge chairs. Well-maintained garden, a quiet place to relax. Breakfast is varied, service is very friendly and helpful. A place you like to return to

Very cute palace hidden in the middle of a small quiet town. 5 min with car to nearest place to swim. We had a lovely time, highly recommend.

Our second home.

This was the third time at Palazzo Guglielmo and I am certain that we will try to return. It is a very well-maintained property, with a nice pool, large rooms with all the comforts, and an excellent breakfast that also includes homemade cakes. Aside from this, what distinguishes Palazzo Guglielmo from any other property, and not just in Puglia, is the staff. In practice, a feeling of friendship is established right away and you feel at home. It is an ideal place to relax and to use as a base for excursions. There is an excellent restaurant next to the hotel and in a few minutes you are at the sea, which I recommend to everyone. Within a few kilometers, you are spoiled for choice with sandy, pebbly, and rocky beaches, all with water that would make other areas envious. Aside from the beaches, in the vicinity there are beautiful places to visit such as Lecce, Poggiardo, Specchia, Otranto, and many others. So thanks for everything and a big hug from Mauro and Jenny.
