The Colony Hotel is set in the German Colony area of Haifa. This boutique hotel offers a quiet garden, and a sunbathing area on the rooftop terrace. All rooms come with LCD TVs, free Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee makers.

Dinner at the Colonial Hotel
A lovely little hotel.
No children.
Excellent location in the German colony.
The design of the lobby, the arrangements and the rooms were charming to us.
Very comfortable rooms.
Before we arrived, we sent a few requests and they approved them all.
The dining room serves an excellent breakfast. Then the dining room stays open and you can take a hot drink 24/7 including pastries.
My heartfelt service helped me with everything I asked.
There is free public parking within a minute walk.
We loved it and we will be back.
No children.

Horrible management.
My experience at the Colony Hotel was appalling, not because of the room itself, but because of the behaviour of the staff and management.
I booked through Agoda. My booking confirmation clearly states that **18% VAT is included in the price**. It even explains that non-Israeli guests may later be eligible for a VAT refund.
Despite this, at check-in the receptionist insisted that VAT had not been paid and attempted to charge me an additional 18%. I showed her the confirmation. She called another staff member, who repeated exactly the same claim. Only after I refused to pay twice did they say they would "check with the manager" and gave me the room key.
I also asked whether a late checkout was possible. Without checking availability or the occupancy for the day, the receptionist simply replied, "Not on weekdays."
The following morning, while I was having breakfast with my daughter, the manager came to our table and told me to come to his office after breakfast.
When I did, he produced a page headed **"Expedia Group"** and claimed it was my booking. Apart from the fact that I had booked through Agoda (which is part of Booking Holdings, not Expedia), this was completely irrelevant. I again explained that he already had my booking confirmation, which clearly states VAT is included.
Instead of checking the actual booking, he became increasingly aggressive, raised his voice, and spoke to me in an extremely disrespectful manner.
As I walked away, he threatened to report me as a **non-paying customer**, despite the fact that I had paid in full before arriving.
Then, to top it all off, a young girl—who appeared to be connected to the reception staff rather than a hotel employee—came out and shouted after us:
> **"Never come back here!"**
This was said in front of my daughter.
I've stayed in hotels around the world for decades. I've dealt with mistakes before. What I've almost never experienced is management doubling down when they're wrong, refusing to look at the customer's actual booking confirmation, raising their voice, making false accusations, and then allowing someone to verbally abuse paying guests as they leave.
If this is how the Colony Hotel treats customers over a straightforward billing question, I would strongly recommend staying elsewhere.

Very relaxing.
In my opinion the best hotel in Haifa. The service and hospitality is the best and always made feel so very welcome every time I visit. It is my home from home for the past 10 years.

Pleasant stay
Excellent location, very easy access, the room was very clean and adequate for the price. Check-out on a Saturday was convenient.

Optimal place for vocations in Haifa.
The hotel is in a renovated magnificent building. The staff is very helpful, the breakfast was very good
