2026 Family trip!!
A wonderful 4-day family trip! Our rooms had a beautiful view of Mt. Tsurumi. The property sits on a hill, surrounded by peaceful nature.
A big thank you to Tatsuki-san for such a warm welcome. We loved the club, onsen, restaurant, and gym…… see you next time!"

Wonder whether it should receive Chinese guests
The hotel is actually good. But when I checked out. They charged me for a bottle of green tea which I didn’t consume. I refused to pay for it and they them into my room and checked. The bottle of green tea was there. They said that their housekeeping checked and found it disappeared. They said that they did this as people steals. Literally they used the word still,
So, no Chinese please.

ANA InterContinental Beppu: Great Bones, Amazing Staff, Needs Menu Tweaks
Having visited the ANA InterContinental Beppu Resort & Spa 3 times between 2024-2025, it has become a familiar retreat. On our stays, we opted for a paid upgrade to a room featuring a private onsen and Club lounge access.
The Room & Private Onsen
The room is thoughtfully designed and exceptionally comfortable, with everything perfectly placed. The highlight is the semi-outdoor private onsen tub on the balcony, which offers an amazing view of both the mountains and the ocean.
However, there is a minor drawback in the layout for us: there is no shower head or washing area located directly next to the outdoor tub (not a typical onsen hotel setup). It is a bit of a hassle to shower in the main bathroom and then walk across the room in a bathrobe to reach the onsen. Aside from this, the room is a perfect sanctuary.
Dining & Lounge Experience
While the Club Lounge offers a serene atmosphere, we noticed a lack of variety in the culinary offerings, to note that we tried breakfast in both lounge and the restaurant called Elements. We would also love to see more variety introduced at Elements. Adding more daily diversity to the food selection would elevate the experience even further. If staying for two consecutive days, there is little to no rotation in the breakfast or afternoon tea options at the lounge. The menu seems to to be almost exact same or very similar to the menu from a year ago.
Exceptional Service
What truly elevates this resort is the service, particularly in the lounge. We were delighted to be recognized by Yamada-san upon our return. She is awesome—her warmth and professionalism are superb. It is staff members like her who make the IHG Beppu a place worth returning to time and again! Note that Bell/valet parking service was also excellent.
Give a tweak to the food options in the lounge and breakfast at Elements. We would love to come back the 4th time!

A pleasant time
When my parents, my husband, and I arrived at ANA International Beppu, we were greeted by Mr. Takahashi, who is also a bartender at the hotel, by the way, and he makes some delicious cocktails.
He spoke Korean to my parents and they really appreciated being assisted in their native tongue since they speak neither English nor Japanese.
When we got to the lobby, we were surprised by the atmosphere and were greeted warmly by other employees.
Ms. Seunghee Lee, the front office supervisor, helped us check-in.
We all could tell she is genuinely nice and a lovely person, and we felt very much welcomed.
The rooms were big and romantic. The whole hotel is amazingly beautiful.
We like the fact that the onsen sides for men & women, which have different views of Beppu Bay, are switched every day. So far, it is the best onsen that we have ever been to.
It is a super expensive resort, but it is worth for every penny because of the excellent onsen, rooms, and staff.
However, we would like to point out some weak points.
There were no trash cans both inside or outside the hotel, so we felt inconvenient.
Secondly, we thought the quality and taste of food did not meet with our expectations at all (except for Takahashi-san’s cocktails).
We didn’t think it was worth what we paid.
We hope to see some improvements in the future.
Overall, it was a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and we would like to go back to stay again.
I personally enjoyed staying there more because of Ms. Lee’s hospitality and professionalism on top of the hotel facilities. I really hope I will see her again.
