Convenient location (car) and warm friendly people
family run, the people are all very warm and friendly. a bit of english is spoken as well. rooms are big.

Different experience
Natural sand bath is just opposite the hotel, another different experience. See photos. A bit pricey but worth it.

Nice place and nice people.
I was here on 13 Dec with my family,in the morning when about to check out and leave that hotel, i realized i lost my wallet. It was so panic and loss to me. Thanks to the lady boss who help to call up the sand bath counter to check for me and i manage to get back my wallet. If not i dont think I can enjoy the rest of my trip in Tokyo. Will like to thank her here. Really appreciate her help .
The food here is excellent and yummy and the people here are friendly and helpful.
Room is closely and clean too.

Great ryokan, will definitely be back.
The food is excellent and copious. What we really enjoyed was the privacy--all meals are served in separate rooms and although you hear your neighbours, you don't encounter them. I didn't hear my neighbours in my rooms, either. The rooms are very clean and everything you need is there. The owners have a 1-yr old son and so they were very considerate and baby-friendly as well. A really family-friendly place to stay.
The hotel is by no means it is not perfect--but all problems I encountered were promptly addressed. Make sure to book early so that you get the bigger rooms (10 tatami mats instead of 7.5) that face the ocean. This ryokan does not face the ocean directly, it is across the street from the place where you can experience the Suna-buro. I found all staff and the owners really helpful in everything (in explaining facilities of the ryokan, explaining how to experience suna-buro, tourism, etc.) and very polite. The only thing to note that their onsen hot spa isn't the best--it's very basic, one indoors and another outdoors (one of each for men and one of each for women). But it was perfectly adequate for us.
Make sure to call ahead so they can pick you up from the train station (it's a 5-min bus ride otherwise, the buses are not frequent).
I will definitely try to go back there again and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a good quality ryokan in Ibusuki.
