The onsen is not big but it is clean and has a peaceful atmosphere. Drinks are provided in the common area and it is perfect after using the onsen. Breakfast and dinner provided were of good quality. The staff speaks good English and they were very helpful.

We had a private onsen room and it was a Kin-sen ("golden coloured hot spring water"). Temperature was good, and is constantly running. We had dinner and japanese breakfast served to us inside our room. Check out was a bit early at 10am, so that clashed a bit with our late breakfast and trying to get a last bath in while the staff wanted to clean up our breakfast set up at the same time. The massage chair was nice and the futon on the tatami was super comfortable (with choice of pillow). The coffee bar was nice, with some snacks during guest staying hours (after 4pm and before 10am). It's a bit further from the bus station, so didn't explore too much (it was rainy too), but there's a shuttle that's available on request. We had to use a pay phone to call as we had data-only plans. They can also shuttle you from the ropeway or train station. All in all, a nice relaxing and quiet place to unwind and soak in a wonderful onsen.

Staff are very friendly and helpful. Both dinner and breakfast are very delicious, especially the dishes with fish.

It’s out of my expectation, it’s very very clean and the staff team is very polite, helpful and most of the front desk staffs speak English.
We enjoyed the Onsen inside our room very much which is big enough for two of us.
However, I m not very happy with the dinner as there are only 3 slices of Wagyu beef which is way too little. The breakfast is ok.
On the other hand, the front desk need to upgrade their sense of security to customers’ luggage temporarily stored behind. The security needs to be improved. I left my luggage with the reception and they just left it around the reception corner. No ticket-butt was given to me for storage of luggage. Anyone go up to the reception and point to the luggage they will give it to you without identification check, security needs to be improved in this regard.

Amazing stay! Hotel staff very communicative, the ryokan room was beautiful and the private onsen was sooooo nice. Breakfast in the ryokan was delicious too! There is a shuttle bus that can take you to the main area as the ryokan is up a steep slope.
