Unfortunately, This Property Did Not Meet My Expectations

Unfortunately, this property fell well below my expectations, particularly when it came to cleanliness and the overall condition of the rooms. The rooms are very outdated and, unfortunately, did not feel properly maintained. There was visible mold on the bathroom walls and ceiling, and the bathroom had a very unpleasant smell. I actually had to light a scented candle just to make the bathroom more comfortable to use. The carpet was also visibly old and dirty. Overall, I feel the property is in need of major renovations and significant updates throughout, especially in the guest rooms. The current condition does not reflect the standard I would expect at this price point. At $185 per night, the rate was definitely not reflective of my expectations. I have stayed at much newer and cleaner hotels for considerably less, so I did not feel the value was there. The positives were the convenient location, with several convenience stores and restaurants within walking distance, and we appreciated the airport shuttle service. However, please note that the shuttle is one-way only — from the hotel to the airport. They do not provide transportation from the airport to the hotel. Unfortunately, based on the overall condition and cleanliness of the property, I would not stay here again.

Richmond Hotel Narita is very conveniently located near Keisei-Narita Station, making it easy to get around. The laundry room was a great amenity and reasonably priced, and the air conditioning worked very well, which was especially appreciated during the summer.
The lobby also offers a complimentary coffee machine, umbrellas for guests to use, a currency exchange machine, and shuttle service to the airport, all of which were convenient touches.
That said, the room could use a bit of a refresh. The carpet in the entrance area wasn’t very clean, and there was some hair in the bathroom when we arrived. The front desk staff were also hit or miss when it came to acknowledging me and my family. At times they were attentive, but the level of service felt somewhat inconsistent.
Our stay was overall pleasant, with a few areas that could use some improvement. Overall, the location and amenities were definite positives. With a little more attention to room cleanliness and consistency in guest service and round trip airport shuttle service, this could be an even better stay.

The room is spacious and clean. It is near the train station, just 5-10 mins walk. There are some restaurants and a convenience store within walking distance. The airport shuttle service is good. It is a good option to stay in order to catch early flight.

The single room was small but sufficient and comfortable. Everything was clean. The only thing that was surprising was an unusually small toilet that was usable, just quite small.
Staff were great, breakfast fantastic and the location excellent for transportation, food and general shopping, but not particularly touristy. However, the nearby Naritasan Park is beautiful with Shinto shrines, temples, gateways and pagodas. The walking paths are beautiful and it is close enough that I walked there from the hotel. If you want to see classical Japanese views and architecture, it is as good as anywhere I’ve seen in Japan and well worth several hours.
